Everyone is whining about the shutdown but most of the restaurants go out of business because inflated rent prices that drive historical sites not protected out of the country.

Even Reagan's childhood home faced this problem.
Global consumer capitalism destroys history in favor of modern supply chains and corporate food lots.

Don't pretend you care about this stuff, America's motto is anything that can't appreciate stock value is an enemy of 'freedom and democracy'.

This is purposeful economic and business chaos by the Democrats. It is criminal.

They have animosity toward people who had the motivation, smarts, and work ethic to start and grow a small business. They’d rather stick up for criminal thugs burning down buildings.

What herd immunity?

Also this:

...The man was diagnosed with COVID-19 on March 26, hospitalized, then recovered. He tested positive for SARS-CoV-2 again on August 15, and whole genome sequencing of viral isolates from the two episodes indicated they were from different clades, reported Kwok-Yung Yuen, MD, of the University of Hong Kong, and colleagues in a manuscript they said had been accepted for publication in Clinical Infectious Diseases, but not yet published...

Of course.

People with motivation, smarts, work ethic might mean a milion votes for them.

Criminal Thugs, and much more importantly - sympathizers to criminal thugs and people who hate the rich might mean 5 million votes. Which way would you go if you were the democrats?

Nothing personal, strictly business.

"Operating since 1762, the Colonial American tavern has stood since the American Revolution and even hosted historical figures like George Washington and Continental Army officers."

Also from the article:

“While we have been open for outdoor dining, a lot of our guests are really wanting to try and get back into the historic building,” she said. “It’s the oldest standing structure in Manhattan. And, you know, we also offer 9,000 square feet indoor... We're very lucky with the space that we do have. We could definitely create a safe environment for our guests.”

1) Meh. One alcoholic beverage outlet is like another. Who cares if a bar in a nasty old building goes under? Worst case, the local alcoholics will have to walk a little further to get their fix. Or they can just drink at home.

2) 9,000 sqft is tiny for a bar and is marginal from a social distancing perspective.

This is truly a first world problem and isn't even close to newsworthy.

De Blasio is amongst New York City's worst mayors of all time.

Hands off, focused on his own feelings, seemingly very aloof, wanting to please specific demographics, and not intent on enforcing law and order/real world business policies/practical measures to make the city run full steam again.

He is a huge mistake, and the residents are now going to pay the price.

Wish he could be impeached, but New Yorkers are stuck with this idiot for another year and a half.

Using republican thinking here:

Shouldn't a place that's been in business for over 250 years have put something aside for a rainy day? Maybe they shouldn't have bought fancy phones and coffee every day! If they were living within their means, this wouldn't have happened!
I bet they have a fancy SUV in their parking lot!

Correct, but he's not alone. Chicago, Philly, Baltimore, L.A., Portland, Seattle, San Fran and many other large cities have radically, far left Mayors and City Councils. It is the reason they are burning and being looted at will as well as businesses failing and closing due to overly rigorous Virus shutdowns.

Dude this is a small business that has probably been owned by several different people over those 250 years. When a new owner(s) takes control they have to start over in accumulating their own profits. The current owners do not get the accumulated profits of all who have come before them. Profits made 25, 50 or 100 years ago belong(ed) to prior owners.
