I really have zero sympathy for 99% of landlords. Greedy pricks the lot of them. My current one included. I hope she has fun trying to sell this dump after we move out in February. We have had to threaten to cut the rent and hire a worker ourselves before she would send out someone to empty the septic, fix the AC etc. She wants 210,000$ for this place. Technically its 5 bedrooms 3 bathrooms but 2 bedrooms are downstairs in an unfinished basement, the AC unit is WAY too small for the house so electric bills are over 400$ a month in the summer, windows are as old as the house so 1983, she won't fix ANYTHING unless we threaten to cut rent and hire someone ourselves. 6 more months and we are GONE! To think she wanted us to buy this dump. Only 1 reason we rented it PERIOD.

The majority of landlords are good people.

That's an opinion. I have yet to meet one. Let's see this one sucks, last one sold place out from under us, one before that literally threatened to blow my head off after we moved out because I went back to try and find an axe I had left behind, he was mad because he never believed us when we told him the floor was rotten underneath the house and found out we were right AFTER we moved out. 1 I had in a different state wasn't bad, he fixed stuff when he was supposed to but he was nosy as hell. I wish I had stayed there last I heard he was selling the house on a rent to own deal.

They should extend the same for anyone with collateralized debt. LL should be able to miss 11 months of mortgages before Bank can foreclose, homeowners same.

If you have a hard time finding good landlords, I would suggest that YOU are the program.

The last one sold HIS property? His right. I've done that in the middle of leases before - that's why you have a lease.

Going onto private property is trespassing.

I'm guessing you don't have the best personality and don't come across well ... so you end up with bottom of the barrel landlords.

Why all the focus on renters and not those with a mortgage? I know several people in dire straights with their mortgages.

Another case of a class of people who don't understand that there is nothing "free" , somebody always pays. Sooner or later that person is always you....

Nope, I am in the right, THEY were in the wrong. Period. Want to be a landlord than do it correctly. No overpriced rent, fix things when they break or just take care of the rental in general. You do that, I pay my rent in full on time.
