A business owner in Kenosha, Wis., is accusing President Trump of using his destroyed store for political gain during a visit to the city on Tuesday.

Tom Gram, the owner of a century-old store called Rode’s Camera Shop that burned to the ground last week amid protests following the police shooting of Jacob Blake, told local outlet TMJ4 that he declined the White House’s request to be part of Trump's tour of the damage.

“I think everything he does turns into a circus and I just didn’t want to be involved in it,” Gram said.

He also said he was stunned to see the store's former owner, John Rode, who sold the family business to Gram eight years ago, participating in the tour with the president.
This is disgusting. This 'owner' sold his business 8 years ago to Gram- he had no business getting involved with this 'photo-op'. This administration is so full of crap they know no boundaries. Totally fake BS from the Liar in Chief.

The legacy started in 1911; when John Rode Sr. quit his full-time job to take his passion of photography and turn it into a family business. John Rode Sr. started by offering black & white film processing to local merchants, and he would have the local bakery truck drivers pick up and deliver the processing orders. Eventually, they moved the family business out of their home and opened up their storefront. As the years passed John Rode Jr. and then John Rode, III joined the family business with each generation adding to the success of the business. Rode’s Camera Shop reached a major milestone of being in business for 100 years in 2011. John Rode, III decided he was ready to retire and enjoy golf and his grandchildren and sold the business to his employees so they could benefit from the fruits of their labor.

The local news outlet noted that while Rode no longer owns the camera shop, he is still the owner of the property where the business is located.

The camera shop had been in the Rode's family for a CENTURY. And it was burned down.
The President does a tour of the damage with the FORMER OWNER, (whose family apparently owned this shop for a CENTURY), and he still owns the property on which the camera store sat,....

And you're getting worked up over this because...... why?

The camera shop is part of his family's legacy.

Aww, poor liberal babies are losing their little minds when Trump highlights the destruction done by the Democrats paramilitary organizations. Guess what? Normal people are sick of the looting, the destruction, the violence and the looting of the left. Acts encouraged and embraced by the Democratic party. Acts that the VP candidate worked to raise bail money for to ensure these violent thugs were freed from jail to prey on innocent people. Looks like even Dems are starting to figure out that this doesn't play well to anyone not a mentally challenged progressive.

It's nothing short of a PHOTO OP. The business owner refused- period. The previous owner (the seller of the business) stood in to represent 'the business'. That is a blatant BS move.

You don't stand in for 'Rodes Camera Shop' when you don't own it. He's just the landlord and mortgage holder. More smoke and mirrors BS from Trump.

No, that was a real photo-op. A good one too. Must be very sad for that family that built that business and for the local community.

A Kenosha business owner is accusing President Donald Trump of using his destroyed store for political gain.

Tom Gram’s century-old camera shop burned to the ground a week ago during the unrest in Uptown Kenosha. Gram said he declined President Trump’s request to be a part of his tour of damage Tuesday in Kenosha. Instead, a former owner of the shop was invited and he praised the president’s efforts.

Gram has owned Rode’s Camera Shop since he bought the business from the Rode family eight years ago. He worked at the store for more than four decades, but that all came to an end last Monday when the building went up in flames. Gram said he got a call Monday from the White House asking if he’d join the president on a tour that would showcase his leveled business, but Gram immediately refused.

“I think everything he does turns into a circus and I just didn’t want to be involved in it,” Gram said.

To Gram’s surprise, he watched on TV as the president showed up with the store’s former owner and President Trump made it seem like the store was still his.

“John Rode III, owner of Rode’s Camera Shop,” President Trump said as he introduced Rode during a round table conversation on Tuesday.

Rode does not own Rode’s Camera Shop. However, he does own the property, located at 2204 Roosevelt Road in Kenosha, the site of Rode's Camera Shop.
Yes- BS on Trump. Again.

No, I got that. Again, it must have been very distressing for the family that built that business and own the building.

I do admire your determination to pretend to be outraged. Outstanding effort.
