If Don the Con made the below statement on national TV April our country would be open, we would all be at football stadiums this weekend, we would be traveling around the country, our country would be open.

He wasn't worry about any panic. He was worried about offending his base who tend to be anti-gov't overreach, laws/regulation infringing on their rights, etc. He's always been this way.
As a journalist he had a duty to report this to the public in short order that the pandemic was downplayed by the president and Trump knew it was worse than what he portrayed to the public. Seems to me he has blood on his hands of close to 200K Americans as well.

I'm a realist. We currently have 6.6 million KNOWN infected, but our testing is sadly way under where it needs to be.
Add to that the idiocy of the anti-mask crowds in Myrtle Beach and Sturgis and a thousand other locations around the country, the fools who refuse to wear a mask in public anywhere, and an narcissist president still holding tightly packed maskless rallies, and you are looking at the virus spreading far and wide.
Everyone didn't get infected immediately in the Flu pandemic of 1918, either. This one is still in its first wave.

This is far from over at this rate, will be continuing through 2021, unfortunately. Trump lied (again) and said we're rounding the turn and getting to the homestretch. Vaccine will be ready "soon"....Fauci differs. Vaccine has no instant results. The masks and social distancing will continue for awhile.

The 79-year-old immunologist said he continues to expect a vaccine to be available by the beginning of 2021.
“But by the time you mobilize the distribution of the vaccine and get a majority or more of the population vaccinated and protected, that’s likely not going to happen until the end of 2021,” Fauci told MSNBC. “If you’re talking about getting back to a degree of normality prior to COVID, it’s going to be well into 2021, maybe even towards the end of 2021.”
So when Trump lies about this being "around the turn"...he's not being truthful again. Lies: 20,000+ and counting.
