A journalist who has information that he thinks is important should report it.
Not wait until he wants to sell a book two months before an election.
A different perspective.... if he discovered in March that Trump was killing babies in the white house basement at a rate of 5 per week, and then waited until September to tell the world as part of his b
ook release.... then yes, Woodward is a DISGRACE for not telling someone IMMEDIATELY about it.
Unless, of course, he didn't really care about babies being killed in the white house basement.
Woodward was still talking to Trump and recording him as late as July. Had he revealed what he knew, the talks would have stopped abruptly and the WH would have immediately gone into damage control mode. With eighteen interviews, he has enough material to paint an accurate picture of his subject. What he did here is no different than any of the research he has done for his previous books. He is not partisan. His books on Obama were not flattering, either.
This is just the first revelation about who Trump really is that will come from the interviews. Buckle your seat belt. It may get a lot worse for 45 really quickly.
As a journalist he had a duty to report this to the public in short order that the pandemic was downplayed by the president and Trump knew it was worse than what he portrayed to the public. Seems to me he has blood on his hands of close to 200K Americans as well.
Though not a peep about this from the left wing media.
Had he done it, he would have been accused of undermining the president. Either way, Trump supporters would have criticized him, so it released it on his terms.
The president's strategy has resulted in the unnecessary deaths of tens of thousands of American citizens. The buck stops with the president.
We learn more and more about the virus every day. Trump seems caught in a loop of denial and acceptance and wants us all to join him on the merry go round and unfortunately with the lack of any national strategy, we are.

what's the big deal, Woodward puts his financial interests first. Most people would do the same thing. Bolton did the same thing, Dems still love them.

Wrong. He puts the integrity of the content of his books first. If the money comes, it's a plus.
Because he has a proven track record of being truthful and believable, he makes money. People read Woodward's books to get the facts.
Well he just revealed Trump is a genius. He knew better than any of the doctors and scientists about covid.
I guess that is why he didn't want it to be known.
Woodard is a hack. Either Trump is an idiot or a genius, they can't have it both ways.
To put it politely. He and Bernstein are transparently partisan clowns....and knowing so much more about them than we did in 1972 has caused me to completely re-evaluate my perspective on Watergate.
Even to the extent that they helped to break an important story way back then, they did it for the wrong reasons. They'll say or do anything to advance the agenda of the left and I've lost all respect for them both.
