Trump got our rare Earth minerals mine digging again too! China dominates R.E.M.s market with ~80%. The USA used to have 80%. China still processes most of our R.E.M's, but that is to change too.
3M is bringing N-95 manufacturing jobs back to the USA too, as are many other medical device manufacturers, medical ppe manufactures, and pharma.
Its part of our new "strategic sourcing" initiative to safeguard key products and industries for our safety.
A bit off topic, but Japan and Australia are also pulling back from Chinese manufacturing too, and bringing theirs back home. They'll take a short-term hit like we will, but the long term benefit is well worth it in security, and jobs.

More of those jobs Obama told us were never coming back. Guess what happens when you actually put some effort and leadership into supporting your country-instead of selling out American workers to every other nation on earth.
Since this data is exclusive to New York, want to share what policies President Trump implemented to help New York???????
Just a few, there were more, not related to automotive but manufacturing related. And for those that counter with a "it's a very minimal amount of jobs" , first, in a state that hemorrhaged jobs the last 20 years, any step in the opposite direction is a good one. And second, the footprint of a new plant, or plant extensions is huge. It requires networks of contracting companies , all skilled trades to complete. And all those people spend money in the area , so restaurants, stores, etc get a boost.
