The USSR and the eastern block nations fell not from outside invaders, but from the misery that their system delivered to the people. NO ONE who lived in the communist block countries want to return to a communist/socialist system, and are shocked that some citizens in western nations are enamored with communism.
The Cure?
Let the liberals in American cities live the liberal dream. Like "CHAZ", liberalism left unchecked will result in violence, anarchy, and human misery. Until urban liberals directly experience the violence and misery of liberalism directly, they will never be cured of their insanity.
Let BLM, ANTFIA and the left wing dems continue to deliver their chaos to the citizens in their cities and let liberalism cure itself. Even the insane, after experiencing a liberal dystopian existence, will eventually abandon their cult.
No police? No problem! Criminals who do not live in liberal areas will flock to them to ply their trade without interference from pesky police. Those who live in those areas will become ardent proponants of the 2nd amendment, as that will be their only means of survival. Taxes? Lots and lots of them! Gotta pay for the damage by the looters. Income? No way- a good deal of that will go for reparations.
A few things. First, I'm not 100% sure you know what communism is if you think the modern american liberal ideology is anywhere close to that. Second, how many people in former soviet states do you actually know? I know a few older people in Belarus, they openly say they were better off back in those days. They didn't worry about food, or shelter. Now, with capitalism, they are subject to corrupt wealthy rulers, and standard of living has just declined. Pure communism is a disaster, but so is pure capitalism. Elements of collective systems are extremely useful, just as elements of capitalism are.

I don't think liberalism would result in hell on Earth. However, it would be nice for them to admit they are not better than the republicans. It is politics which automatically means that somebody is going to gain while the other loses.

I went to Moscow back in the mid 1980's, right before the fall of communism really. It was certainly culture shock. Lines 3 blocks long with people waiting for toilet paper, or a potato to eat for the week. Complain about it? Shot dead. Go to college and learn to be a scientist, Chernobyl.. Lovely place, Communist Russia. Just a dream vacation...

I just relayed to you all what people I know in Belarus have told me personally. That's obviously not universal, but to many at least, times were better then.
That's similar to the US today. For someone who has a good job, is doing well, capitalism is great. Me personally? I work in investment management. I do very well for myself. I could easily sing praise to capitalism. For someone who is struggling to get by, who went bankrupt because of medical debt (or can't even get medical care to keep living because it's too expensive, as insane as it is that that's a problem in this country), capitalism is a pretty raw deal.
This black and white "capitalism is great and communism is bad" is propaganda we as Americans have been fed all our lives. There are positives and negatives of both systems, and both in their absolutes lead to fairly bad results

For several years, I worked with a woman who escaped the USSR a few years before it fell. I haven't seen her for probably eight years. But I will tell you this, she considered any American who wanted anything close to the system she fled to be absolutely insane. She is a university math professor and instructor of Russian (language).
By the way, a free market economy means you have a choice as both consumer and provider; communism means you have no choice as either. Only a moron would willingly choose the latter and only a tyrant would impose the latter.
