Isn't it great? These people are so stoopid. It's unfathomable that they could even have thoughts like this.
Quote:
Minneapolis City Council members, who just two months ago moved to eliminate the police department, sounded the alarm during a Wednesday meeting about a surge in crime seen by their constituents.
A card laid is a card played. Twin City voters DESERVE what they voted for. Clearly, it's time to vote in Republicans in all these liberal socialist Dem-run cities! Brunswick, GA citizens wanted to put defunding their police up for vote on the Nov. ballot. A wise judge ruled NO.
It is 9-18-2020, and I watch the news every day (I am a glutton for punishment/lies, I guess) and this is the first the local so-called news has reported on this today, that I am aware of.
How long has this "autonomous zone" been going on? Absurd that I can't even trust the local so-called news to report that people are getting extorted to leave their alleyways in Minneapolis?

To answer the question - no, there is no autonomous zone in Minneapolis. Carry on.
There has been no truly autonomous zones in any city here in the U.S.
But is there a good sized section of Minneapolis that is, and has been, blocked off to the free flow of traffic, with self appointed "militia" types screening and controlling this area?
If you can run off the bonafide police, or prevent them from entering, you are indeed a militia.
I am surprised that shop owner has not killed somebody by now. I think I would have.

[Mod cut: personal]
Did you not watch the video AND notice this whole area is barricaded and being run by self appointed activist "leaders"? Your mayor and city council does NOT stand behind the law abiding citizens of this zone OR the police should they attempt to quell the violence in there. They actually had to wait outside this zone to catch the thug that beat the hell out of this poor business owner because they knew they weren't allowed to arrest him inside it. He had free reign to come back over and over to hit this guy again and to harass him. THAT'S an autonomous zone.
There are two disturbing things going on here. The first, is that there is an 'autonomous zone' in Minneapolis. The second, and I believe far more disturbing, is that the local so-called news has not reported on this at all. People's lives are in danger and they would rather not report on it than offend. According to one councilmember:
"Extortion...people have to pay to leave their alleys"...
I actually heard about this for the first time on national news (not locally) last night. Consequently KSTP reported on it for the first time yesterday as well, it seems.
Please explain, as these are very conflicting statements being made.
Criminals are extorting citizens by not allowing them down their own alleys. Break ins and violence are being reported multiple times a day, at least on the south side.
The police aren’t responding to calls, or not in a very timely fashion, compared to pre-George Floyd arrest.
Are the police defunded? No.
Who pays them?
What has changed about them doing the jobs they applied for? Besides the 100s leaving, so traumatized by doing the jobs they applied for?
” They’re being told that this is called a no-go zone by MPD when they call police or when there is an emergency situation that they have to meet with the officers blocks away from where the incident is occurring. That police are not responding to their calls at all.”
-Council member Andrea Jenkins
Honest / mature response only, please.
