It's impossible to quantify how much damage his message has or hasn't done, but it's likely had a negative impact. Regarding his handling of the crisis: there is simply no way to know one way or another whether the negative impact would have been more or less if someone else had been in office. Personally, I don't think wearing a mask and social distancing is much of an ask and am appalled at people who act like it is. On the other hand, the economic impact of lock downs are very real. Finding the balance between reasonable restrictions and letting the pandemic run wild is very, very difficult. We're living the results of Trump's attempt to find that balance. Everything else is just talk. Biden or anyone else who claims they could have done better is full of crap. Likewise, Trump is full of crap when he says it would have been worse under Biden. The fact is, nobody knows.

Bottom line: In terms of who I am voting for, the CV19 is a non issue. Even if it was, I'm not a fan of single issue voting.

In terms of the GOP being "sort of stupid". Yep, when it comes to masks and social distancing, they've been pretty dumb. On the other hand, I feel like Democrats have a huge list of issues on which they've been stunningly obtuse, so Dems still have a firm lock on the overall stupid award.
I think his handling of the virus has been fine. His messaging has been inconsistent. But then that is Trump. He's impulsive. His Tulsa rally was stupid, however. Bureaucratic inertia. Looked like a good idea when they scheduled it and nobody adjusted for the summer rise in cases.

The Democrats forfeited any credibility on the issue when they encouraged the protests and tried to pretend it couldn't spread the virus. As if Cuomo's killing nursing home patients and then bragging about how well he had done at the DNC convention wasn't bad enough! And their cries of racism when Trump banned China flights? The blue state pro lockdown governors have done the worst in the country. 7 of the 15 best states never locked down at all and all 8 of the states that didn't lock down are better than average in deaths.

There's no doubt that tens of thousands more would be dead if Trump listened to the Democrats back in the early stages.

Trump 2020
Did everyone in Taiwan get the virus? What? No? How many died in Taiwan? A handful. Did they shut down their economy? Um. Nope. Will everyone in Taiwan get the virus? Nope. Did Trump send Azar to Taiwan to find out how they did such a stellar job to keep their country safe and not only their people, but their economy? Ah, yep.

Your fatalistic herd mentality view is nothing more than accepting defeat and surrendering to the virus. There is a better way and our country seems incapable to following it. Why do you think that is?

Leadership maybe? Republican's catching Covid, including our president, is not the look we should be promoting around the globe, but, stupid is as stupid does.

Taiwan looks like a winner in the worlds eye, and that should be how we look in America. Not like some third world country dying off to the tune of 1,000 people a day.

The Republican's made this a partisan issue vs following the science. I'll go ahead and be that pea testicled Nancy and vote Democratic this election. (By the way, that's funny ) We are once again faced with a binary choice of who can clean up yet another Republican created disaster. Republican's are on strike three now. The great depression, the 2008 financial collapse that caused a world wide recession, and now, this botched Covid response that put us in third world status and depression era unemployment. You go ahead and cut off your nose to spite your face with this tribal nonsense. The vast majority of America is ready for a change. Do you really want 4 more years of this nightmare?

There's a poster on another board that likes to call Republicans the stupid party because they roll over and allow the Democrats to get their way. The leaders have had no clue about how the Democrats don't think the rules apply to them. McConnell is a prime example in allowing the Democrats to continue to stall nominations on a level far beyond anything ever seen. Its handicapped the administration because McConnell can't see that he needs to change the Senate rules since they aren't being applied as intended. The rules were to allow principled objections. DC Democrats have no principles except for the principle of hypocrisy.

On the virus, the Republicans have not done a good job of messaging their ideas. Having 90% of the media an arm of the DNC makes it difficult, but they just have not done a good job pointing out the deaths and despair the lockdowns have caused. They've allowed this dangerous myth that masks are actually significant. It has overshadowed other more important measures to control the virus that need to be emphasized.

How do you feel about maybe learning the difference between doing something you choose to do and being infected by a disease you didn't choose to get?

IMO, the Council for National Policy worked years to gain control of the Republican party. They started from the ground up. They finally reached their goal.

They are dragging POTUS Trump to the right. He has a few strongly held views that he upholds. On most issues, he doesn't care one way or the other. The decider is the CNP. That's Kelleyanne's job.

Democrats: Before jumping, be trained by a certified instructor, with a properly packed parachute following established protocols.

Republicans: You can't make me wear a parachute. Geronimo...
