WOW, your kids didn't figure out how to do it on their own.

That's ballot harvesting for you -- kidding relax.

But seriously -- when my son was in college I reminded him to apply for his absentee ballot but I wasn't going to drive to him to have him fill out and then drop it off for him. That's a little helicopter parent there.

There are alternatives. I handed mine in at the registrar's office - no USPS involved at all, and no line either!

What am I missing?
Biden has been in politics for 40+ years; VP for 8 years.

Trump has been a public figure for 40+ years and has been President for 3.5 years.

What "surprises" can come between now and November 3 that could change someone's mind?

You're perfectly free to ask whatever question you want, but some context would be helpful.

Well, I knew I wouldn't be voting for Trump on day one of him taking the oath. So, the debates? Mildly amusing. We already sent our mail in ballots and voted for Biden last week. I expected record turn out this year, and who wants to stand in line when you can vote in your PJ's in the comfort of your own house? My mind was made up 5 years ago about Trump. What's going to change in two weeks?

California Republicans would be happy to do away with ballot harvesting.”

The California law allows people to hand their ballots over to any designated person, who then delivers the ballot. Under that law, California Democrats have held “ballot parties” where attendees fill out their mail-in ballots and leave them with volunteers who return the ballots en masse. But Republicans in the state often decry ballot harvesting, and the California GOP sued Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) this year over the practice.

Now, the party is using the same law to justify the unofficial ballot boxes, arguing that its boxes are akin to volunteers who collect ballots from voters. “This procedure has been in place since 2016 — not sure why people are all of a sudden surprised,” the California GOP tweeted.

The National Republican Congressional Committee also defended the unofficial ballot boxes, suggesting in a tweet that California Democrats were “only ok with ballot harvesting when it’s the Democrats ballot harvesting.”
Are you freaking serious?

The ONLY place ANYONE should be putting a ballot is in a secure, verified ballot box. Duping innocent people into dropping their ballots for "safe keeping" is about as disingenuous as it gets.

This type of mindset really just goes to show how absolute desperate and pathetic some people are.

Democrats:”Vote early and vote often.”
Republicans:”Will do!”
Democrats:”No no no not you!”

With just weeks out from the election if the past few years of President Trump or the decades of VP Biden haven’t convinced you to vote for them then you are deciding on how a candidate makes you feel or how much a candidate will make promises to help you.

If you will be voting by mail, early voting gives time for the post office to get it to the right place. Getting your ballot to your voters' office early gives them time to certify the ballots so that they may actually be counted on election day. If voting in person, voting early can help you avoid long lines and crowding. The only drawback is that things may change in the next few weeks. If you feel the chance of that is minimal, then vote early; it will help election day to go more smoothly and the results to be gotten in a more timely way.

Unfortunately, if a ballot box says on it that it is "official" some people just go for it because they are lazy. Every county will inform the public of the location of actual ballot boxes. This move by the Republicans is blatantly illegal voter fraud. The law states that you can DESIGNATE a person to take in your ballot. That means naming the person, signing, etc. Encouraging people to drop their ballots into a deceptively labeled box is not designating a person. It is fraud. The Republicans knew this plan was illegal when they hatched it. There should be prosecutions for this.

Right. People are completely missing the third party designee aspect because they are somehow trying to justify a totally nontransparent and deceptive practice.
