I don't even watch it there. I have my Spectrum app on my IPad and watch Fox Business if it's a weekday and anything else on a weekend - sometimes even the Red Sox.
If the wait causes them not to vote, that's on them. I've seen people wait hours for "Black Friday" shopping, sports events, concerts, etc. That entire reasoning is crud and not legitimate. People will wait for what is a "priority" for them. Just more propaganda.
When I lived in Chicago, I waited for hours at the DMV (in IL, it's a Secretary of State facility) every time. So did everyone else. No difference.
Because the powers that be want this to happen. This isn't a hard issue to remedy if they wanted to, but they don't. Everyone - both sides of the aisle - want this election to be a disaster. They are setting it up to be one. The answer to your question - they want to create the chaos.
Right.
So if it’s the “powers that be” who want it this way, then there’s clearly an argument to be made that voting is being suppressed.
Man, you are the expert stretcher! Every working voter has to work around their schedule to vote. You are creating a "problem" where one DOES NOT EXIST.
Some schedules are easier to work around than others.
Having a car vs taking public transportation
Having a salaried job vs hourly
Having PTO vs Not
Having childcare vs not
Having a polling place nearby vs one far away
Are all variables.
If you think all working people have the same ability to take time off you are either incredibly naive or deliberately obtuse.
There is no reason to put up obstacles to voting - obstacles that are more likely to affect low-income voters - unless the people putting up those obstacles do not want people to vote. And they don't want people to voe because if everyone who is eligible to vote did so, there would be very few Republicans in office.
