Legal immigration is plummeting, stymying growth in the labor force and threatening the US’s ability to attract global talent and recover from the coronavirus-induced recession.

Trump and many of his supporters fall for the notion that everything is a zero sum game. Economists call it the lump of labor fallacy ...which is the misconception that there is a fixed amount of work to be done within an economy which can be distributed to create more or fewer jobs.

About half of U.S. based Fortune 500 companies were started by American immigrants or their children.

The topic is about a Latino slamming other Latinos for supporting Trump based on his opposition to illegal aliens. Trump isn't opposed to legal immigration in the numbers that we actually need and who will be a benefit to our society not a burden. Those numbers should be reduced or increased if our needs change. Latinos here illegally are not building Fortune 500 companies so don't confuse them with immigrants (whom mostly weren't Latinos) who did so in the past.

We have plenty of smart and educated Americans to start companies and plenty of Americans to do any job at a fair wage. We don't have near the need for legal immigrants that we did in a long ago past. Our population numbers have grown immensely over the years and we have to keep in mind our ability to provide jobs and resources to that said population. Our natural and social resources are being stretched thin these days and millions are unemployed right now.

I wish there were a swear word to show my amazement that is not blaspheming.

When will your team admit that your guys support illegals as much as anybody?

You are 100% against sanctuary cities. IMO, employers are no different. Same theory.

It will not stop unless and until assets of those who hire them are seized and they are jailed.

And instead of deporting criminals they should be imprisoned in the USA so they don't get back in 3 days after they were deported.

This country has not really gotten serious about illegals. There is a lot of brouhaha about a wall. But that won't keep them out, either.

If ICE cannot locate and deport visa overstays, what make me believe anybody is serious about illegals?

As longer as the Chamber wants them, it is all smoke and mirrors.
