Sweden's 970 cases Thursday is equal to 33,000 cases in the USA. And their cases are rising dramatically.

Sweden is debating bringing in local lockdowns in a bid to halt the spread of Covid-19, according to reports - having resisted the measure for months.

The number of cases has risen dramatically in the past fortnight, with 970 confirmed on Thursday - the highest since June.

The country's approach to the pandemic has been controversial, with businesses and schools staying open throughout, although citizens have been advised to observe social distancing rules.

But according to the Johns Hopkins University, which measures worldwide data on the pandemic, the country now has the 12th highest death rate in the world, with 58.4 per 100,000 people. This is 10 times the figure in neighbouring Norway and Finland.

"Sweden is debating bringing in local lockdowns"

But you titled this just as the fake news that Sweden started lockdowns - do you not see how you are conned by the media?

When you read the article it says that it will be a series of recommendations. I’m still confused about the discrepancy between what worldometers is reporting and what the article is saying about deaths per million.

The link you listed shows overall death rate and my guess is that the Johns Hopkins site shows the recent death rate—maybe the last two weeks.

I did not write the headline. Take it up with the UK website. This is not US MSM. But what you are ignoring is cases are way up in Sweden. Hence the lockdown talk.

Well...it is certainly a mystery why they're taking action right now - but only if you think death matters.

You have to stop blaming MSM for this. I am convinced they are not smart enough to do any math to "manipulate" you. But they ARE smart enough to "massage" a headline, so you click on it - and that's their ONLY job.

Sweden is losing 1 or 2 a day right now. They've lost 80 people since September 1st. They've barely moved on the "death per capita" score board - so there is quite literally NO WAY they are changing their policy based on increasing deaths. They're aren't any. Their deaths have not increased. But their CASES have.

They had - in the early days of Covid - some tight, tight days in terms of health care and overwhelming their system. They do not want to approach that again. Note that dead people do not need health care. So what they're saying is - last time we got through this by adding rooms and beds (it's true - look it up) and we don't want to do that again. Maybe we should just kinda adjust our policy a bit and see what happens.

That's it. Nothing more. Along comes the MSM to sum that up as the headline the OP used. Misleading at the very least.

Really. Look it up. How far has Sweden moved on the deaths per million chart lately? Not at all, is the answer.

Isn't the point of "cases being up" exactly what they are trying to do? Infect the population so people will become immune? Fake news.
