Another Walgreens is permanently shutting down in San Francisco.
The drugstore at 790 Van Ness Ave. had been dealing with rampant shoplifting, according to the San Francisco Chronicle, amounting to up to $1,000 in lost merchandise every day. Thefts were often brazen and carried out in broad daylight.

Why is Walgreens allowing this? Other stores don't allow this. Stand at the door, and have an employee at least GLANCE at a receipt to intimidate the worst of offenders.
Stores who knuckle under and decide not to react in any way if people are carrying out their merchandise deserve to shut down.
Just like stores who fire employees who attempt to stop theft, Walgreens deserves this if they are going to have policies where they watch their merch walk out the door.
On the other hand, if it's such a high crime rate area, leave, and let the community decide why they are driving out businesses they want to have convenient to where they live. Let the community figure this out.
Most retail stores have all stepped up surveilance, supermarkets,Home Depot,LOwe.
I was looking for 6 pack diet Coke, there is only 5 cans, someone must be thirsty while shopping!

Wow. All the condemnation for the store, and not a whisper of criticism for the scumbags who steal.
