So I work in hospitals with patients who are symptomatic and have tested positive and negative for CoVid19
This thread is intended to give you information which can help you.
If you have a combination of the following signs / symptoms:
Temperature greater than 100.5
Weakness, loss of sense of taste/smell or headache
Feel short of breath or air hunger >> Go to the Emergency Room or call 911.
If you have these signs / symptoms and have diabetes, congestive heart failure, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, or use home oxygen >> Call 911
If your child has any of the above symptoms call your child's pediatrician.
If your child is short of breath with or without fever call 911.
The key thing to remember is:
Do not delay assessment and treatment. Early identification, early start of medications and early rest is essential to avoiding serious problems.
It's really only a problem if you are over 65. Odds are even if you get COVID-19, your symptoms will be less severe than what you'd expect from the seasonal flu.
If you symptoms aren't severe, don't clutter up the ER and waste their time....certainly don't call 911.
Also, unless your kids are infants, they have almost no risk from COVID-19, this is something that attacks the old and those with a foot in the grave already primarily. Non-infant Kids are of least concern unless they have some very severe comorbidities.
I'm not saying that COVID-19 isn't serious for some people, but we harm EVERYONE if we clutter up ER's and 911 with something that is a mild illness for the vast majority of people who get it. Leave those resources for those who really need them.

This thinking was originally put out to the country. Now it is bad advice. Early treatment = good outcomes.

I was reading an article that spoke about “micro-exposures” to COVID and how that’s beneficial. (Tried to find the article again, but couldn’t.) The theory was that every time you venture out, for example to the grocery store, you are likely breathing in minute amounts of virus - and that it was a good thing since the viral load was so small that your body was able to fend off the invaders without getting sick and enabling you to build antibodies.
Any thoughts on this?
