We will not participate in the leftist, Biden/Harris Green New Deal. We do not support the banning of fracking. The United States of America operates as a capitalistic economy and OIL is the fuel she survives on. With this being said, we will STOP ALL TIRES for 24 hours on Veterans Day 11/11/20.

Interesting, because Biden is not talking about banning fracking. In fact, he's been very clear on that. So I guess they could have said nothing at all, and still had the same message.

People will lap up any BS, it's scary.

LOL. Automation works well enough we could do it now to be honest for about half of them. So yeah.

And driving a Truck is not a tough skill set. My father did it for a while after he retired from his real job.

Many truckers operate on a very thin profit margin. Its difficult to see this happening. And for those who drive refrigerated trucks, just stopping them for a few hours means a loss of money and even product; stopping them for a day would be catastrophic. Ask any trucker who drives a refrigerator truck who gets stopped at the VA/NC border (NC is very aggressive in collection overweight citations) and has their product spoil.

And no, the US is not a capitalist nation; we have a mixed economy. Truckers should know this better than anyone. The roads are public, they pay IFTA, IRP, DOT and other taxes to use those roads. The government regulates their hours, their loads, their CDL's, their weights, their insurance and so forth. When Bush floated the idea of privatizing the interstate system, they balked wanting the govt. to continue to own them rather than privatizing them which would mean tolls.

On the other hand, they are a strong lobby; they killed Bush's plan - it never made it out of committee.

That is true but if they stopped working tomorrow you would be dead from hunger or murdered by someone for what you might have long before then. Just remember how people acted when there were some minor shortages at the beginning of Covid.

Eventually, maybe. But I doubt any of us would survive long enough to see it.

I'm sure you folks who didn't support President Trump will get out there and fill in. As someone implied it's just something to do after the end of your real job.

I look forward to when automation actually does this job. Guess it isn't a "real" job anyways.
