The Dems still control the house and the presidency and maybe even the Senate Georgia elections pending.

Most people didn't like the whole defund the police rhetoric etc and the squad so that most likely cost them seats. But Trump is more toxic for Republicans.

If the Republicans continue to embrace the crazy voter fraud conspiracy theories then the Dems will have no problem getting those two Senate seats.

She learned ‘at the feet of the Burtons’ (Phillip/Sala/John, etc.) after also watching her father (who had been Mayor of Baltimore). When she ran, she had the support of the Burtons for that ‘Burton seat’.

Trump talking about voter fraud and the such is nothing new. Democrats aren't winning both Georgia seats. They are disfavored for both seats (not even Biden cracked 50%, and Ossoff underperformed Biden and Stacey Abrams when she ran for governor in terms of percentage of the vote).

Trump had a problem in Georgia, which was exacerbated by changing demographics in Georgia. Maybe in 4 years time Democrats could have won these seats. This time around, things really aren't in their favor.

Nancy puts both of them to shame. She has a united group of Democrats when it's time to get bills signed. Sure there is negotiation behind the scenes. But when it's time to get bills signed or to negotiate with the other side, Nancy and the House Democrats are united.

Dems lost some seats, but they didn't lose control of the House.
Whatever the Democrats decide is their business.

Given Trumps unpopularity, I would argue that "losing some seats" is worse than you may be thinking.

I've been hearing about how "changing demographics" were the death knell of the republicans for about 25 years now.

Also, yes, you are right that the talk about voter fraud is nothing new. It figured prominently in the 2000 and 2004 elections, took time off in 2008 and 2012 and roared back to life in 2016 and 2020.

Partisans are always going to get riled up and being poor losers.

^^^This is very true.

I also wouldn't discount the fact that her deep pocket ties all over wall street and the investment bankers etc. allows her to reward her friends and punish her D rivals better than some others could.

I'd personally love to be a fly on the wall and hear her and some others talking about the trouble the squad is giving them and vice-versa. There is no love lost there imo.

You can look for the squad to have even more power since they obviously made a deal.
