We had a thread recently about what things folks might talk about here post Trump. This is a example.

Simply put, its been clear for sometime that the STOCKS act isn't working as intended. Its too easy to avoid enforcement of it.

So my suggestion is-federal public officials should not be allowed to own stocks. Instead we should have a public investment option that they move their money into. Something financed by the country, and that ties the value of the investment into it into the median (not average) income of the country to their investment. If median income doubles, then their investment doubles. It would make helping the American citizen be a priority instead of helping individual companies that they have investments in.

Thoughts on this?

How about they are restricted to index funds only. No more insider trading on individual stocks?

I've always suspected Trumps "insiders" knew when he was going to get on twitter and move markets.

Id rather they cared more for all of us then the stock market which is primarily owned bu the top 10%. I like the idea as its easier to implement, but I still think we could do something better.
