This is true. It would also be highly racially discriminatory to do so and they'd get alot of heat.

Also,...working at 7-11 isn't a bad thing. Plenty of foreigners work there through college and then land some impressive jobs. At least in my area.

I've had quite a lot of respect for Mike Lee over the years. But I'm afraid this little detail will require some research on my part and reassessment. I actually have a hard time believing (based on his past stances and philosophies) that he would put this forth. Did he become afflicted with progressivism somewhere along the way?

As for the OP civil war comment. I don't want a civil war anymore than most people. But it is nearly to the point that it will be the only way for those who believe in individual liberty to keep that liberty. The liberals sure as hell won't be allowing it on their watch. Thing is, we may be headed for a civil war either way. There will come a point that John Q. Public will not stand around and let what the left wants to do with this nation happen. Sooner or later some eyes will open.

Personally, my choice would be to break the union, give the states full sovereignty, defund/dissolve Washington DC and the federal government, and let each state decide on any alliances with other states. I suspect there would be a rather large liberal/socialist union, a more "business as usual" union, and perhaps some smaller states or groups of states going in more of a libertarian direction, then possibly some very staunch constitutionalist states.

What you've written makes sense until you take a strong look at leftist and their history...they will never be satisfied...they will try to take over each state until they win that state and then take over another...it will not matter the means...they will cheat, steal, kill to get what they want.

We need to stand our ground now or forever be silent.

More China than Russia IMO.
Yes, and that's why we have a federal level government. But the federal level keeps growing and replacing what should be state decisions with legislation for the entire group of states. What works for California isn't necessarily what's good for Kansas.

The federal government is there for the reasons you mentioned above. There are other things that we've turned over to the fed that haven't worked out so well. Department of Education is one example. In theory, having nationwide standards sounded good, but the reality sucks, and all it does is divert money out of the actual classroom and direct it to bureaucrats.

They don't have to cheat, steal or kill. They simply have to let demographics take their course. Urban areas tend to lean liberal. The United States is increasingly urban. Tick tock tick tock tick tock.......

Anybody lusting for war has obviously never been in a real war. Children blown up, poisoned, shot, chopped up with machetes, and whole 9 yards. Either that or the person is a psychopath and loves violent carnage.

Is OP old enough to been available for service in Vietnam. Did he go to Vietnam, volunteer with gusto, or did he try to find an out, claim he was too smart, too rich, and otherwise valuable to be cannon fodder and dosed with agent orange. You know, like the current president..... arm chair soldier, too good to risk his own life.

With a Civil War, there is no escape unless you can get to a foreign country. Hopefully not one that refuses you, huh? You are at mercy of events and violent nasty people taking every advantage of legally committing carnage.

I acknowledge that many of these foreign visa workers are very talented people with a good work ethic. Where does the responsibility lie with Americans who sign off on gender studies majors for their kids?

Specifically, which of your individual liberties have been lost or are being threatened?

Many convenience stores in my area are owned by foreigners. And the Subway shops. The whole family works there.

Breitbart is not a great source but this story is legit.
I'm also interested in the actual bill, but not the civil war discussion.

Here's Senator Lee's description of the bill. It doesn't match Breitbart, and it's interesting that it passed UNANIMOUSLY.

So that says something.

Anyway, Lee contends that it doesn't increase the number of green cards in total, but merely the number of allotted green cards to go to India. Also, there are protections in place for American workers in ending the temporary green cards, whatever those are.
