The vaccine "study" results are pretty clear - they checked the people for illness, in the same way that any of you would run to Rite-Aid and get a test. What do you think it means when the test is negative? You think it means you don't have it, but you can still be contagious?
I think this bothers some of you: "These data do not address whether vaccination prevents asymptomatic infection."
Now, why do you think that's the case? Do you think it's some coverup or scam or something? Nope.
Here's (partially) why: Because they had to use SOMETHING as a base for "real proof" that you were sick - and the test - alone - is simply not enough. So - following the CDC guidelines for confirmed cases - you needed a positive test AND at least one symptom - before it was "confirmed." Easy.
The conclusion is not that the vaccine doesn't stop asymptomatic cases - but that it's impossible to prove it in the time allotted. With more time, and more data - it will be shown - but unless you want to wait for 2024 for a vaccine - you'll just have to live with the uncertainty. The reported hospitalizations - which is the ONLY thing we really care about - will plummet, just the same, rather or not we know about asymptomatic cases. After all, asymptomatic cases are not consuming resources. If all the cases were asymptomatic, we wouldn't be here on this forum.
You people that want 100% certain science at all times are just living in fantasy land. It does not happen in any other discipline, and it certainly isn't happening in medicine.
Fauci is experimenting with the lives of normal people. Ideally he should be punished, at a minimum he should be out of a job. He'll then have ample time to do the talk show circuit

Dr Fauci is predicting this country will achieve herd immunity by late spring or early summer. Yet he also says we will need to keep virus restrictions in place until likely 2022.
Does this not make sense to anyone else? With herd immunity by early summer, the viral cases should be low to nothing at that point. But he wants us to stay masked up, socially distant, and all large gatherings canceled into 2022? This basically means he wants us to act as if there is a virus spreading even though we are not at all likely to get it. This is ridiculous and needlessly destroys our freedoms and economy.
At what point do we demand our politicians to disregard the bad advice or for him to justify why we need to stay restricted beyond when it should be needed? At this point Dr Fauci is just gaslighting those who fear this is just all a permanent power grab by politicians.
If Biden listens to Fauci, we will never live again in a world without masks, social distancing, and never again get to attend full concerts and baseball games.

He is a liberal control freak who flip flops all the time. It will continue to destroy our economy and people's ability to feed their families and pay their bills if we continue with all these unnecessary safety precautions after most people get the vaccine. Our freedoms are at stake here.
