The French Laundry is one of the most famous and expensive restaurants in the USA. But you and I gave them millions so the rich and famous can continue to eat there. This is where Gov Newsom dines (and ignores his own rules). Surely there is no connection between the governor and the restaurant.......

The high-end French Laundry restaurant where California Gov. Gavin Newsom and San Francisco Mayor London Breed dine during COVID lockdowns, got quite a serving of Payment Protection Program (PPP) loans.

The loans totaled more than $2.4 million, according to an ABC7 KGO-TV analysis of newly-released data from the Small Business Administration.

ABC7's analysis found the company received 17 times more than what the average restaurant in the area received.

At the French Laundry, you can reserve an exclusive outdoor culinary dining experience starting at $450 per person or a White Truffle and Caviar dinner for $1,200 per person, according to reservation services online.

Oh, hell, I will always just settle for a 1lb. hamburger steak with gravy and sautéed onions.

I don't know their balance sheet but 90% of the restaurants have been hit extremely hard, including high end restaurants. Whether or not they are famous has nothing to do with - they can be losing a boat load of money despite being a famous restaurant.

On a side note, French Laundry is kinda passe now.
