Watching the news there are all kinds of reports that the Pfizer Vaccine allocations have been cut in about 27 states with both parties leadership so this isn't a claim of bias. The administration claimed it was the manufacturer but they shot back that production is not the issue, any thoughts why Health & Human Services is doing this? Should this be were "Warp Speed" should shine?
Too soon to say but it is facing a number of problems. Hopefully the new administration can bring a fresh outlook to fix the issues. FYI, Moderna is the only true Warp Speed vaccine to be given a green light so far. Pfizer is just using War Speed logistics.
No I am asking why the state allocations are being cut? The manufacturer has already clearly stated that their is no production issues on their part after the Administration placed the blame on them.
Your thread title is "So is Warp Speed a giant bust?". That tells us all what your intentions are.
I just read and watched the update on this. The main issue is the booster shots have to be saved for the people who received the initial shot, otherwise the drug will not be administered properly if all available doses were given out and the PFE could not supply enough to meet the booster shot demand on time.
If they were to use the entire current supply for the initial shots and then PFE could not provide enough supply to give the booster shot within the specified timeline it would turn out to be off label use and an unknown as to how effective it would be.
Knowing the specifics and details is a much better approach than jumping on anything possible to try to denigrate someone you do not like politically.

The vaccine was developed in record time, so Warp Speed was a huge success.
You can't instantly distribute and administer millions of doses.
Give it another month before bashing Trump for this huge success.
Yup, you can't fault the scientists. It was a remarkable achievement, but they still had to get the goodies in people's arms. I'm a little surprised the Army wasn't more involved than they are. The one (and perhaps only) thing they are really, really good at is getting stuff from Point A to Point B. To have FedEx and UPS involved whilst in the middle of holiday shipping season let alone a workforce stressed by the virus seems like poor planning but given it was the White House that was lead dog on this project I'm not shocked.
