Not happening according to friends in NC and FL. New transplants are not voting for democrats. I can't speak for TX.

Many fleeing NYS and NYC for places father west than New Jersey are conservative republicans, that's the problem. People rather leave than fight so what NY is stuck with is more and more bleeding heart progressive liberal democrats.

Parts of North Carolina for instance are seeing such an influx of certain demographics from NY (allegedly) there is an increase in new Catholic schools to absorb.

Ditto for Florida and Texas, though things may be nuanced by what area of those states former New Yorkers are fleeing to and setting up housekeeping.

Big draw for Florida is same as everyone else; no income taxes and other rates are rather low compared to NY. You can say same about NC and some other places as well. Thus large numbers of retired NY law enforcement, fire department, court officers, corrections officers, and other uniformed civil servants with nice pensions (among others) seek to lower their tax exposure by formally changing where they reside.

That's documented. But does it account for those with multiple homes in different states or the illegals who simply left because these group take tax dollars with them and could be why for lower demand on certain services. If one person owned a house and their entire family left is that accounted for.

If New York and their Democratic policies are so great, why is everyone leaving?

Also, when those people do leave, why do they continue to vote for those failed Democratic policies?

People on the left make no sense to me, it’s as if they can’t think logically.

They're very anti-tax, except for more police protection. A light rail line was recently shot down, which would have been the first light rail line in Las Vegas, because it would cost too much, and they voted in the alternative: Bus Rapid Transit.

Phoenix is a haven for Chicago transplants, some even referring to it as the New Chicago, and those transplanting are sick of taxes and liberalism.

It's the socialist-leaning, Bernie Sanders loving, Millennial generation that will eventually turn any state Blue, not transplants.
Where I live we have a ton of people relocating from New York and New Jersey and they are bringing their liberal voting practices with them. They are fleeing their states where their policies destroyed the quality of living and are now trying to do the same to my state.

I've lived through an entire boom-bust-& beyond cycle, in a Dem-controlled major city (Detroit), so I'm qualified to comment. These are generalizations, not absolutes...

-They respond primarily to emotional stimulus, not logic. Their emotions are unchanging. Their leaders use this to control them, & turn them into a herd of foot soldiers.

-They have a herd mentality of power in numbers...like big cities, big government, & unions. They lack self-reliance (except their leaders).

-They "feel" the place they live isn't as good as it once was, but they can't "reason" why, or uncover cause-effect. Most lack problem-solving skills (except their leaders).

-Dem-controlled cities in decline, will continue to vote Dem down to the last surviving human. Accept this fact (their leaders are long gone).

So, listen up Pubs, do not expect Libs to change...EVER! Its best to avoid them, because in our civil society, we don't destroy each other. I've been successfully avoiding them, for decades.

They follow Pubs, into the A+ communities we build, so then, its time to leave, & start anew elsewhere. Staying, & resisting, is futile. Their herd will overcome you. Life is too short to stay & fight the good fight, so just leave them in their own decline. If you go back to visit 10 years later, & the place is now a craphole, you've done well.

I know...this stinks...us always having to build a nice place, only to have to leave it, but that is the reality of our society. The more you accept it, & adapt, the happier you'll be.

Look at my personal profile...I practice what I preach. I watch local election results. When Dems reach ~45%, it's time to leave. I recently left Gwinnett County GA that just went Blue in November, after decades of solid Red. Now, I'm in a new solid Red area in SW Florida....for how long? Time will tell.

NYC was the first place I fled!

It's demographics, New York is an older State, median age of 38.7. Then the economic structural reasons come in and it's a double whammy. Texas is 34.4. NC and Florida are older but the economy and retirees work in their favor since those states never industrialized like ones up north. In fact Florida is arguably artificially old because so any old people move there.

New York State even with the population loss still manages to pummel Florida GDP wise, even though NY State is smaller population.

Pretty accurate list IMHO.

I've lived in New York State for the greater part of my life. Little by little and over the years the Democrats have taken over the state to the point that they now run the state with an iron fist. I doubt very much that it will change anytime soon, same for California. The Democrats have a solid lock on absolute power in perpetuity. It gets to the point where you see the writing on the wall and the state's just not worth fighting for unless you thoroughly enjoy shoveling s**t against the tide. Then having it come back at you and hit you square in the face.

Unfortunately none of us gets to choose where we were born and raised. Knowing what I know now and having experienced living both in New York and Arizona. If I had that choice it would be Arizona hands down. In New York I was like a fish outta' water. Not so out here, this is where I truly belong. But I never would have found that out had I not moved here. At least for me it was certainly a risk worth taking. About the only thing I miss about New York are my family and long time friends. That's it, PERIOD, EXCLAMATION MARK!!!!!

Leaving New York was like having a tremendous burden lifted off of my back. Just about every aspect of living there. Packing up and leaving all of your family, friends and everything that you are familiar with is not an easy thing to do. Especially when you're moving 2,474 miles away. There's always that shroud of uncertainty and fear of the unknown hanging over your head. How easily will you make new friends? Will the natives look at you as an intruder? Will you feel like a loner? Things like that. To my surprise none of that has happened to us. It's as if we've moved into a welcoming family of friends as we have so much in common. I guess I should be grateful to the Democrats for taking over New York State. If it were not for their policies and especially their politicians of whom I despise. I might not have taken the risk and moved.

To the Democrats of New York: THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU. I mean that from the bottom of my heart.
