Mayberry? That was the place where almost no one was married?

There is so much hate because our government would rather attack and punish law abiding citizens who are just minding their own business with taxes, regulations and other BS laws while ignoring the real criminals and allow them to run free. The real ones are the likes of corrupt politicians, judges, lawyers and corporate CEO's.

"Who cares about civilian rules" is what we most recently have lived with most of the summer and into this year. Funny thing about civilian rules, there are no simulations. You get no do overs. You live with your decisions, or die by them good or bad. We've seen that throughout history.

Well, don't nail me to a cross entirely for that attitude for that was a while back.

I was just pointing out, confirming, how colleges can orient and condition people in various ways. It can go the other way as well.

Once out of the Navy (and after ROTC), my next degree was biology with a lot of liberal arts. So by the time Bush the 2nd rolled around, I was very much against "The Gloves come Off".

I completely agree. When you add it all up. The USA has changed so much I barely recognize it. The changes are not in a good way It just doesn't seem like much of a home anymore in many ways. It appears that our Govt has no respect for its citizens. Many Americans themselves show no interest in respecting each other either. A really bad situation right there.

A and B. A: I have friends who, I believe, spend all their time on media that is of only one leaning. One hears only what they want to hear. Well, given that, after a while, how would one react when they hear an alternate opinion especially one that has any anger in it?

B: Mom told me this is what happens when people are alone, isolated, and hear nothing else, that they become very one sided or irrational in their opinions.

Myself, even though I don't like the fury of the opinion of some others, I still keep my links to them, for I have learned the hazards of being so submerged. In the 90s, I was very involved in the BI-SEXU-L mailing list. It was wonderful, we were in our own little world, nice to each other, it was nice that the world was like that. Then I get to a wedding, Melissa Etheridge is on the news and my brother and another man are talking about burning her at the stake and I was shocked. I had become so involved in that little world that I forgot that the world doesn't necessarily think like that.

So today I keep my links open to hear other opinions from the rest of the world.

Of course, there is another side of the coin as well ............. Keep your friends close and your enemies closer.
Remember they went to common core education. No critical thinking - so there are robots running around who can’t accept something different. Sheepeoples - is indeed a fact. Why Trump went for it. Shoot them n still they will Vote for me. He knew many were already indoctrinated. Only hope is the kids who have access to the world through www. My hope is in them.

That was only the main characters and there weren't scenes of unmarried couples having sex like they do in the current sitcoms. The town itself consisted mainly of married couples and families. The episodes always depicted a "moral of the story" ending. It was about simpler times and a lot more harmony than we have today.
