Simple: we don’t like you & you don’t like us. And I could not care less.

So far it doesn’t sound like anyone has a valid answer. I’m just hearing “they suck and we know better so we hate them.” On both sides.

I’m still leaning toward Americans being glued to social media and highly divided opinionated “news” networks looking to stoke emotions for profits. That is the only difference I see between the US and other nations, many of which also have divided governments and political opinions. Yet in the US we are drowning in hate.

This is easy. Democrats and the liberal media. CNN spews hate and lies 24/7 that is well documented on this very forum.

In before the "not all" defense that applies to basically everything is used. I didn't say "all" but the generalization is pretty accurate.

The MSM stokes it as well as social media and the idiots who are active on it. Politicians and people with money encourage it for their own gains.

Indeed you are 100% correct.

What I find amazing is how the Left are all calling for unity now that Biden and the Democrats have stolen the election? I think that we should reward them with the same amount of unity that they afforded Trump, the Republicans and their supporters.

Unify and compromise with them? Like hell.

On both sides? Sure, but I think it is a false equivalence. I think the hate is much worse coming from the left than the right. I dont know many conservatives who de-friend people because of their liberal politics. I have observed many people on the left who say things like "If you are voting for Trump, defriend me." Or, "If you are voting for Trump, you are evil, or racist, or misogynistic, etc, etc, etc.

Conservatives may think liberals have really dumb ideas about the way the world should work, but there are far fewer haters than I have seen on the left.

I have a lot of liberal friends, that I can always have a beer with. But they are not the radical liberals. They are liberals who can laugh about politics and political differences. They don't use liberalism as a measuring stick of the quality of a person, like many liberals out there do.

I agree that CNN does hate on Republicans and is bias, but isn’t that the same thing Fox News does on the right? That’s what I mentioned on my OP, that the US has “news networks” that are more like opinion networks that purposely divide us and pray on our emotions for ratings and thus profit. It’s something quite unique here in the US when you look at it’s proportion compared to other countries.

So these ultra bias “news networks” that pray on our emotions for profit do indeed seem to be part of the reason we have so much hate here in the US.

Thank you for chiming in.

Yes, on both sides. No side is innocent. See my post just above this one.

But, I don’t see it as the fault of individuals. I see it as the fault of the above mentioned such networks and our ultra reliance and belief in social media, which is full of conspiracy theories and false news on both sides of the isle.

The talking heads create hate between Americans that otherwise would not exist at such levels.
