I believe it may partially be due to US citizen’s mass infatuation with social media and news networks that are more opinion pieces looking for high ratings (aka money) than getting out facts and actual news. This all divides us even more.

Let’s try to have a civil conversation here. No need to rant about the left or right. No need for name calling.

Why is there so much hate in the USA? What is causing it?

unemployment, cable news talk shows, and social media

In summation I'm in my 70's. I don't recall anytime in my lifetime that there has been so much hatred in this country as there is today. We are so divided by politics, culture and moral beliefs. Yes, in the past there was far more racism but other than that we were a far more cohesive society. A blame it on two things. Liberalism and far too much immigration in a short period of time both legally and illegally which has diminished job opportunities for Americans, reduced wages, increased taxes, poverty, overcrowded conditions, stress on our natural and social resources and culture clash.

I consider Obama the worst president in my lifetime. But know I am not a Trump supporter either. I voted for Trump as the better of two bad choices both times. I simply agree with his policies more than Clinton/Biden. I don't hate Obama or Clinton or Biden. And I certainly don't love Trump or even like him. Vote as you wish and I will too. BTW, I personally think Jimmy Carter the most moral man to sit in the OO anytime lately and like him personally but thought him a weak president.

One thing you can say - social media and the Internet have been powerful tools in this latest Neo-fascist uprising. But they have also been powerful tools for those that choose to use their intelligence, to sort out the paranoid delusions and alternate facts from reality.

Speaking of Jimmy Carter, there is a recent interview with Willie Nelson that was pretty funny. Apparently he smoked some weed with Carter at the White House.

Always liked Carter, although stupidly I voted for Reagan in 1980. My last ever Republican vote.

I think you hit on it in your very first sentence.

The reason that other places (particularly in the West), where the "Right" and "Left" probably don't hate each other as much as we do in America, is because they are ethnically/racially homogeneous. They are all blood/family, more or less.

In short, diversity is poison.

It's funny you started this thread, I was going to start a similar thread asking "Do Americans hate each other more than non-Americans?", because it's obvious that Leftists in America hate conservative (namely WHITE) Americans more than they hate their true Marxist enemies, the Chinese, or Mexicans whose government is hostile to the United States.

It all boils down to: diversity is destruction (in my opinion).

Recently on FB I posted that 'liberalism is evil'.

Some lefty responded: "liberals are human".

My response was: do liberals view us conservatives (or Trump, for that matter) as human?

The answer, of course, is no, they do not believe we conservatives are human. They view us as subhuman scum.

So the feeling is mutual. And they need to know, I don't value their poisonous views nor will I ever buy in to to their poisonous "values".

Obviously not. People who do not accept globalization as reality and/or who throw down stereotypes i.e. 'liberals', 'blondes', atheists/christians (or anyone/anything that is unlike them or that which they don't understand) as a basis to which to hate are precisely the point re: the thread.
