If you were a foreign observer with years of political experience looking at his performance, you'd almost think he was deliberately and calculatingly turning in a bad report card so as to be advanced to the next grade just to get himself out of the current class.

It's confusing when one thinks he had the kind of initial support some would die for and made little use of it. Healthcare reform, with expert advice and an initial small couple of steps to provide broader coverage with more affordable options, would have cemented his tenure in the eyes of the entire populace regardless of party, but instead he hung his hat completely on the partisan stuff like appointing a SCOTUS perceived as beholden, building of a wall, ... . . had he firstly done something of measure perceived as universally for the benefit of ALL and then done a couple of his GOP mandates ..???

He lost and in such a spectacular fashion against a Democrat ticket, those same casual observers with no dog in the hunt, would have given him the favored odds for a certain win. Remarkable in it's scope.

I just can't figure out how he could have taken such a gift and squandered it all while taking the GOP into the basement with him.
Very well said and I agree with all of it. The guy has charm and charisma but it’s like he refused to use it at the critical moments, especially that first debate where I wondered about his mental faculties.

If he would have shown just a hint of empathy and care about this pandemic he wins in a landslide but he just couldn’t do it.

Anyone paying attention should have known that. Rs just didn't think it could happen to them that quickly. Mitch thought he could control him. They were all wrong. Play stupid games, win stupid prizes.
The same rhetoric has been said for 4 years yet roughly 50% of the electorate supports Trump. He went from 65 million to nearly 75 million supporters — more than any sitting president in history. More than Obama or any Clinton ever received. That’s just real talk.

After the celebration about beating “Hitler” is over, Democrats will have to look in the mirror and think — ya know, we squeezed out a “win” against the man we framed as Hitler...during a pandemic with untold man hours and money invested. Whoopty do.
I actually agree. Means there's a lot of Americans out there that support a "Hitler". Your words, not mine.

I thought Biden was one of the worst candidates they could have picked, other than Hillary part II.

I think Trump is done in politics but his son Don Jr should run in 2024.
Don Jr has the Trump lack of academic and intelligence but without the charisma. And after daddy's antics the last several months costing the Rs the loss of the Senate, on top of his lack of response to the pandemic?

Not a chance. Rs will forgive the dead but not the loss of power.

You’ll be here railing against Trump until the point you get tired of talking politics. In 5 years, in 10 years...15...

The Trump thing isn’t going back into the bag. Perhaps you know but can’t admit it in any way that could possibly credit Trump.

Let’s face it — Trump came from nowhere and within 4-5 years he won the presidency and followed it up 4 years later by receiving more votes than any sitting President in history. Impressive to say the least. Nearly all the polls we saw for 4 years were simply fantasy created to shape a narrative to bring down Trump.

Trump added 10 million additional followers despite humanities greatest political effort against....anything! Time, money, man hours, comment sections, forums, Abrams — a record amount of resistance was waged.

It’s clear that no matter what the final tally is — America is a country that has moved CLOSER to Trump after 4 years.

Even the biggest fans of Trump would’ve had their minds blown by a level of support that easily trounces even peak Obama.

4-5 years of attacking Trump for what? To prevent him from reaching 80 million votes?

For those that are simply repulsed by Trump to the point of him being Hitler in their minds....did you achieve your goal if in the process you created 10M additional “Hitler” followers?
Trump didn't come from no where. He injected himself into politics for decades. He has been a household name since The Apprentice. New Yorkers and New Jersey new him from his real estate dealings. New Jersey specifically for his casino ventures.

The birther movement catapulted him into presidential politics and was his springboard to his bid in 2015.

I take things to their logical conclusion and Trump detractors certainly agree that he is bad, bad, bad on the level of racism or Hitler. Therefore, I’ve chosen to refer to Trump as “Hitler” — Hitler meaning the baddest of bad things to ever exist.

And Biden never ran against Trump.

The election came down to a man framed as “Hitler” vs “people with a heart that don’t support Hitler”.

That’s basically what it boiled down to so the person Democrats ran didn’t matter. They could’ve ran literally ANYONE against the “evilness” that is Trump.

In simple words -his own -he was a law and order president - his platform - jobs, immigration enforcement and trade agreement enforcement
He kept his campaign promises despite enormous opposition

For this- 70 million was spent trying to remove him from office
A fraudulent election prevented his second term
For his good works he was fired and replaced by the man guilty of the crimes he was accused of
No president has been hated more for doing good since Lincoln

74 million. And that's seven million less than non-cultists. Trump and Trumpism has been defeated.

The “smart” people told us otherwise from the beginning. Trump has always been down on support, rejected, harming something, hating something, colluding with someone, close to arrest, etc, etc.

And I’m not sure what world you live in but in mine, going from ZERO political career to 10% support in the Republican primaries to 75 million supporters in the world’s biggest election all within 5 years DOES qualify as coming from nowhere.

And despite 5 years of Trump nearing his end he won the nomination, won the presidency and now has way more supporters than even Obama had.
