It's difficult to see how this pick could be considered controversial; he's eminently qualified.

I have mixed feelings about the age thing.
I'm not talking about AG, I was referring to a SCOTUS seat (as per the post I had quoted and responded to). AG is fine, he's term limited to however long the President stays in office, if he sticks around that long. But you make SCOTUS appointments with an eye to the future and influencing the court for decades to come

You shouldn’t pick anyone based on age but it seems that has become the rage under Trump except when it come to AG’s. Life experience is very important.

He bugs some on the left because his judicial record shows significant deference to law enforcement over 4th amendment issues. And now he bugs some on the right because he would not commit to releasing the Durham report. Nevertheless his nomination is bound to sail through because both positions are amenable to not making the entrenched power centers uncomfortable.

All of Biden's nominees should be confirmed or he should just make them acting this or that. We did learn that much from the past 4 years.

After Barr, the GOP has nothing they can put on Merrick Garland. NOTHING.

The SCOTUS is locked up for the next 10 years. Biden will get no pick.
