It is imperative that Trump gets banned from ever serving in public office again. He has shown himself to be a dangerous threat to the country. Trump and his authoritarianism can never be allowed to rise again, and that process of stomping Trump out of our national discourse begins with an immediate impeachment and conviction.

Then Pence becomes President, and gives trump a full pardon for anything he might have done that violates any Federal Law. Trump then moves into the Presidential Suite at the Trump Hotel in D.C. Or moves to Scotland.
Then Pence resigns, and Pelosi becomes President, thus vacating her House seat and Speaker of the House, requiring a Special Election in California, and a new election for Speaker in the House.
Since there is no Vice President to preside over the Senate, Pelosi must nominate a someone to fill the vacancy.
Until that person takes office, the Senate can not verify the EC ballots.
OR...
Pence nominates a democrat Senator from a state with a Republican Governor as Vice President (Jon Tester from Montana?), giving us a republican Senator , and then Pence resigns. Again , no vice president!
A political can of worms, anyone? More fun than herding cats!

Calls for Trump to be removed from office started before he was even the nominee in 2016.
