You often make more sense than many others on this forum, but this is just a strange and silly point of view. trump's inane supporters aren't innocent children that need to be gently guided. They're freaking adults who damn well know what they're doing.
The point was, Trump told them to stop and go home, and they did. Whether he told them he loved them, or that he liked their outfits, or whatever, doesn't change the message. He told them to go home, that they needed to stop, and that Republicans are the party of law and order.
The OP is insinuating that by telling him he loved them that he was secretly telling them to keep rioting and to start a coup to install him as dictator. Or whatever he imagines in fantasyland.

It makes no sense to argue the 'horrors' of the "Nanny State' & yet seek to place the "Pappy State" up on a pedestal.

Agree. And you don't tell a group of people like that you love them and they're special for their actions. That's not exactly being a leader. Saying they should go home after that really belittles that message. It also didn't help his case to make it also about him to continue to whine about the election in the same message. Compare and contrast that with his message today.
Unfortunately this is the type of irrational thinking of this President and many that support him.

They stopped and went home? Would you be so kind as to show us the video footage of them leaving after he said that? Trump incited a riot because he saw it as his last desperate chance to be reelected. He didn't care about his supporters, he never has- he uses them to do his dirty work. It's very sad and even sadder that people died during that insurrection for no good reason at all.
Yeah, they are "special" all right. It's basically Trump's version of Howard Stern's whack pack.
Seriously, I don't think a Stern presidency would have been as disturbed as this one.
Increased spending, troops still involved in the Middle East and everywhere around the globe. No transparency with the Federal reserve on where our money is being spent, school system still a disgrace, sky high welfare.
Nothing really changed except the hand picked winners and losers.
