got two groups that rioted and killed people? got two groups that destroyed property? got two groups that ran rampant thru a city doing mischief and mayhem?

but you are sympathetic to the motives of one of the groups?

This is simple, just figure out the one point that is different between the two... MY GROUP DIDNT....!!!!!

some of you make me sick. people died last year. peoples lives were ruined. DAs didn't prosecute mayors told the police to stand down and let them go. Individuals whose livelyhoods were burned to the ground were then given bills for the clean up of their ruined lives by the cities that let the rioters run loose.... but those people weren't bad... they didn't run up the steps of the capital.

good grief.
They are all the same to me.

Two of my coworkers from DHS were the “Trump’s stormtroopers” like the left have been calling us. They deployed to Portland to protect the federal court house last summer. Both of them are now on desk job permanently because of eyes damage from the lasers used by the rioters

When do you take 2x4s and baseball bats and firearms and zip-cuffs to an innocent protest at the Capitol? When do you erect a gallows? When do three GOP Reps give rioters a tour of the Capitol building pointing out targets for the rioters a day before the insurrection?

Aaron Burr, Jefferson's VP, famously killed Alexander Hamilton and then later was charged with treason for scheming to carve out a personal empire from US territory and stage an invasion of Spanish territory. He was acquitted on a technical issue. Burr did a lot and was likely guilty but he never took a dump on the Capitol floor and smear it on the walls. Trump's intrepid (but alas, poorly dressed) insurrectionists out did even Aaron Burr. Those people are not Americans -- they are animals.
So let’s put it to the test: have a full audit, with bipartisan observers of the entire process, and see if Biden does win. But if he doesn’t, then we’ll see if his supporters believe he lost.

As to your other claims, I’ll wait for the official investigation to determine what actually happened, and whether any perpetrators of violence were Trump supporters or Antifa masquerading as Trump supporters. But what we can be sure of is that this was a “mostly peaceful” protest. We can also be sure that there was far less violence than at other protests earlier in the year, and that violence was definitely not perpetrated by Trump supporters.

"Moreover, the evidence established that relevant USPP officials had made those decisions and had begun implementing the operational plan several hours before they knew of a potential Presidential visit to the park, which occurred later that day. As such, we determined that the evidence did not support a finding that the USPP cleared the park on June 1, 2020, so that then President Trump could enter the park".

Sedition.....
conduct or speech "inciting" people to rebel against the authority of a state or monarch.

No one incited these people they were responsible for their own actions. Trump told them to march and protest peacefully and most did. So according to the dictionary this was not sedition even though it was at the Capital Building. By the way, when was Trump convicted of sedition? Oh, that's right he wasn't!

By the way, are you not aware that BLM, ATIFA and the likes of them attacked government buildings in Portland?

Default History is full of did we learn yet legacies and for many we did not.

I think most of us what to put much of last year behind us by decades.... clearly it was a brutal year and the Political wrangling though just goes on and one in this forum as it is its purpose really.

Just the riots were costly to cities and retail. It did not help our cities whatsoever we all know this and we still have such risk. Still all the looting and damage many retail establishments had insurance pay them back for and even some cities aided them....

Nothing was like what we saw of those in all sorts of signs, hats, radical affiliations on all garments and flags of fringe groups to a President seen as a Savior ......BROADCAST WENT AROUND THE WORLD. It reminded me of 9 11. Not for scale of death and damage. But in it was BROADCAST LIVE and the WORLD Saw America in such a division OUR SACRED CATHEDRAL of DEMOCRACY WAS TAINTED to its INTIMATE CHAMBERS with our Elected Officials scurrying for safety some denied then they had fear of the mob....

We had this some of this in the 1960's demonstrations. There are scenes of hippys to just young disenfranchised over forced to go to Vietnam over years of a Draft that kept getting worst and worst as media again.... showed scenes of carnage on TV screens of the era.

Still non VIOLATED INSIDE OUR SACRED CATHEDRAL. They were all over the outside. Then a culmination was when A extreme group of a anti-Vietnam movement threatened to encircle the PENTAGON and even lift it up in some...supernatural act..... The Government was prepared and had it surrounded by ARMED POLICE and they could not do what was threatened.

What we saw was a Capitol ASSAULTED to its VERY MOST SACRED CHAMBER of DEMOCRACY. Again, all over social media and TV screens. We saw riots in cities also on TV news coverage on YouTube posted etc. and social media of course.

Still there was a CANNOT BELIEVE MOMENT that the CAPITOL WAS EVEN ALLOWED TO BE BREACH as if not nearly as protected as we would have though was just expected from ANY ORGANIZED PROTEST. Any Protest can go array and we clearly had this go into INFAMY.

History will of course note the Racial riots and looting in our cities. Some burning but nothing like the 1960s when far more major cities had neighborhood have neighborhood burned. DC was a hotbed of Protest all the time from MLK to Anti-Vietnam and both together. Some of you were young then as me.... some way too young to remember that decade and like ongoing for YEARS of turmoil.

** Notice the picture in the below link.... Anti-Vietnam Protesters around the Pentagon in 1967. WHITE YOUNG MEN MOSTLY. NO BIG SIGNS HATS OR FLAGS and ELEVATING A PRESIDENT. Just people unhappy with war and forced to go fight in the jungles over the decade +. They were not hiding weapons in any degree to cause damage intended to our institutions. Though they were all over its exterior.

THE PICTURE IN THE LINK IS 1971 ANTI-VIETNAM YOUNG MOSTLY WHITE MEN AND WOMEN ALL OVER THE CAPITOL. Notice they did NOT come with A PRESIDENTS CALLING with all kind of GARMENTS AND HATS FLAGS and WANTING the NATION TO END THE WAR..... "THE DID NOT ENTER THE CAPITOL".

***
COMPARE the pictures in each link to Jan 6th .... just totally different purpose.

Widespread Disillusionment
- By November 1967, American troop strength in Vietnam was approaching 500,000 and U.S. casualties had reached 15,058 killed and 109,527 wounded. The Vietnam War was costing the U.S. some $25 billion per year, and disillusionment was beginning to reach greater sections of the taxpaying public. More casualties were reported in Vietnam every day, even as U.S. commanders demanded more troops. Under the draft system, as many as 40,000 young men were called into service each month, adding fuel to the fire of the anti-war movement.

- On October 21, 1967, one of the most prominent anti-war demonstrations took place, as some 100,000 protesters gathered at the Lincoln Memorial; around 30,000 of them continued in a march on the Pentagon later that night.

The Pentagon protest and others ..... 1960s 70s were also a vivid demonstration of division in America. The turmoil revealed a nation more deeply split than at any time since the civil war a century earlier, with protesters castigated as traitors, veterans returning to insults and the very meaning of patriotism suddenly uncertain.

So let me guess, storming the Capitol bad but burning down a police station is fine?

Exactly. January 6th was an attempt at a coup through domestic terrorism. The Hillary lost protests (which honestly I don't recall besides the inauguration protest) were not anywhere near that. The BLM protests, most were peaceful. Some were violent and there was riots related to it, but most MLN protests are peaceful. January 6th, it is far harder to separate this.

The Democratic party, through their support, endorsement and even financing of BLM and Antifa, including by Biden's own staff and VP, have blood on their hands for the lives of everyday Americans taken in these brutal acts.

You can't compare a mostly peaceful political protest to mobs of thugs terrorizing the American people for months on end.
Cadet Bonespurs won that election, but it wasn't the will of the people.

Hildebeast got more votes.

Sounds like the NY Times pov.

Remember riots that killed 3 in Portland were the "Summer of Love".
