Reportedly diagrams/ floor maps of the interior of the Capital, including office locations, have been “ out there” for a few weeks.

Seems to me there were at least three kinds of intruders:

Those who stayed between the velvet ropes in the Statue Room, while Capital Police observed. It looked like they were lost or a part of a tour group or something.
Who knew all that was needed to maintain order were velvet ropes? And,

Those who behaved like they were on a panty raid in a sorority, circa 1959, or showed fo a soft Revolution Party, and

Hard core

I'm not saying that one heroic officer that was by himself and buying time for the Senate to evacuate isn't a hero - he absolutely is. But there are a lot of stories, videos and images of Capitol police that are clearly Trump supporters and letting them in, posing with them for photos and generally being supportive. There needs to be a review of what's going on with the Capitol police.
Can you link us to all this many stuffs?

Well, 46.9% of the voting public were Trump voters. I wonder how many of those supported what went on inside the U.S. Capitol last Wednesday by those other "Trump supporters."

I had not heard/ read that claim. Do you have a link?

Here is one claim reporting the mayor asked for support for the period of 1/5-7 and received 340 troops, limited to traffic control.

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/art...MAGA-riot.html

This seems to do a decent job of explaining who is in charge:

I am comfortable suspending all judgment pending the multitude of investigations that will occur instead of trial by opinions of people relying on hearsay and the court of social media.

How about you?

What makes you ask the last question?

I was just pointing out the absurdity of the kooky left winger conspiracy monger.

As for the DC mayor, I will have to look for that. Search engines are showing the massive recent articles. I saw 2 or 3 different articles a couple days ago.

The mayor of DC did not turn down assistance from the National Guard. She requested they be "activated" and they were officiall activity on January 5th. This means that the left their regular jobs and assembled at their meeting area waiting for any orders for official deployment. She cannot, however, order the guard to actually deploy because DC is not a state and she does not own the DC National Guard. The President does. The mayor of DC has to put her request through the President to deploy them. She did when the trouble started. President ignored it apparently. She also has to work with the Army each and every time something happens so they can officially "change their mission." The mayor has given several press conferences about what happened. It's not hard to find the truth.

The truth of the matter is that the National Guard should have been deployed that morning, by the President, based on intel. Just as was done to protect the *statue* of Lincoln.

Umm. 2300 is like their total force. Won't be all working at the same time.

Mayor has no control over the DC national guard troops, since it is not a state. The commander in chief would be Trump. The 2nd would be Pence.

Pence made the order to bring in the troops on that day. Trump did not.

My opinion is an independent ( is that even possible?) investigation of potential threat evaluation, the Capital Police reaction, to why it took so long for Reserves to arrive needs a deep dive. It should minimally include FBI, Pentagon and Executive Office.

Why wasn’t potential violence anticipated?

Who specifically has the authority to call in MD and Va support and failed to do so and why?
The Business Insider gas reported that many high level security officials in Europe suspect it was a coup with assistance from the Capitol police and other agencies due to their failure to take certain basic security measures and their complete lack of preparedness for the protesters marching in the Capitol even though there were indicators that that was going to happen

Or to clear his path through the park for his photo op a few months ago.
