Even though I cringe at times at the intensity of posts here, I just wanted to thank everyone for sharing their views. Your posts have given me the opportunity to explore ideas that I might not have been exposed to and helped me to understand some of the underlying feelings about what has been happening in the past year. Dialog is important to be able to bridge gaps.
Free expression of views is the key to understanding. This is why the massive coordinated effort to end that practice is so sad and dangerous.
I find it racist. The poster I quoted mentioned racism. I just wanted him to see there were things people find racist even if he doesn't agree. When Trump told 4 duly elected women of color to go back to where they came from I also found that racist. Also weird because 3 of those 4 were born in America.
Everyone posts their opinions, and I'm not just talking about this forum, but on some others I am on mostly, some folks are downright nasty and attack when they can. I've learned to do my best to not go near them, but they find my comments and away they go.... If that person reads this and it means anything, just maybe they can ignore others...but some just can't resist being nasty and angry.
I see it differently & your correct both sides are guilty but, in this instance I think the left is trying to let future presidents know there are consequences to behaving like Trump did. I don't think they would bother if people weren't killed.
I agree.
Should Trump face no consequences for inciting a riot?
"FIGHT"! You can't win if you don't FIGHT!
And his personal Attorney telling the crowd he wants 'TRIAL BY COMBAT".
In the meantime, while the riot was going on and Senators were hiding under desks and a police offer was being murdered - Rudy Giuliani was calling Tommy Tuberville and identified himself as Trump's attorney and asked him to do 'whatever he could" to 'delay the votes".
Evidently the riot didn't buy them enough time. Trump and his minions would have taken power by any means necessary. He called the Georgia SOS and told him to 'find the votes".
It cannot happen again and there must be some kind of reckoning.
all that's needed is a one minute delay to delete calls for violence or such...nothing is perfect but one cannot just ignore crazy talk but the right seems to think in grandious superlatives which are the kind of end of the world henny-penny statements that are being questioned...
