Do you understand why China or other counties buy US bonds? Not because they like it, it is because it is stable. China crashes US dollar value. It is like this
Because it becomes a legitimate weapon to use at a time of great vulnerability without an act of war being actually committed.

China doesn't need a stable $ or a holdings of US bonds to be fiscally viable but the inverse is indeed true.

Two of my college friends were CCP members (and I believe they still are). They are among the best people I have ever met.
CCP has a high bar for admissions now. Basically the "observation" period is at last 6 months, and any bad record will make a candidate disqualify immediately. For example, if you had a fight with your roommate, you are out. A criminal record means being dismissed forever.

Joining the CCP is a lengthy process with many criteria, nothing like joining the D or R parties in the US. For those who are interested in politics, it is also a must.
haha, I am Chinese in my 60's, born in HK, and moved to Vancouver, Canada in the late-80's. I am confident that, between you and I, I am not the naive one. Go back to your college friends. I can tell you that they know no one and their talents are dime a dozen in China. Two of the CCP members who I know (in their 60's or 70's now), CCP came to them. Anyway, did you realize what happened here? It was so hard to be a member for some folks. Once you were in, you could die for the party since it gave you a good life.

Xi says time on China’s side as turmoil grips US

https://businessmirror.com.ph/2021/0...moil-grips-us/

President Xi Jinping issued an unusually upbeat assessment about China’s future, noting that “time and the situation” were on the country’s side in a new year marked by domestic turmoil in the US.

The Chinese leader told a gathering of provincial and ministerial-level officials on Monday that he saw “opportunities in general outweighing challenges,” a marked shift from his sometimes dire-sounding warnings of recent months. While he repeated an oft-used allusion to the challenges posed by President Donald Trump’s “America First” policies, he expressed new confidence that China would gain in the long run...
IT's not about democracy. It's about cash money. If you were competing against another business, you wouldn't give a flip if they were communist or socialist or whatever. All you care about is market share. China wants to lead the world economically just like any other country. Including the USA. It's not about communism or democracy.

yup--the msm is really inspiring the CPC.
Because some dude put his foot on Pelosi's desk?
If only that is all that was happening.

Stop reading stupid global times, they are for "bull****er" to read and feel good. China needs a stable $ to do trade, and support its own econs.. Also, no one really China's own reserve worth because China bundles all its investment, foreigners' disposit and its foreign currency. In the end, CCP can reap chives, and it is one million times better than selling the US bonds.
