its the lawyers job to use the law to as you put it get people off. It's part of our system of justice and our Constitution. Many time people have gotten off who most of us have felt deserved punishment but we as a Nation recognize we protect all of us by enforcing equal treatment under the law. Not just for those we like or agree with. Perhaps you should consider another Nation of residence where American Civil Liberties are not valued to live in and pray to whatever or whomever you pray to that no one ever comes for you.

Dershowitz is a Harvard constitutional law professor and he is a solid Democrat. However, he is one of the few remaining true "liberals" who actually still believes in the law as written and facts and the truth independent of the prevailing Democrat left mob-style "narrative" that is being pushed.

This is a Democrat left Harvard constitutional law professor, who is actually approaching this with some objectivity. It appears that you want someone else to speak to this who will affirm the Democrat left mob-style "narrative" that is currently being pushed by your team.

By pointing out that that they were getting hammered with rocks and ice chunks (pretty dangerous) from an ever-increasing mob, and clearly heard the order to "Fire!" coming from where their officers were standing.

They were acquitted by a jury of Americans, who had no love for British troops who had just killed American civilians in their town.

Then, watch an appeal be filed to the SCOTUS charging that the way that the impeachment was conducted in the House of Representative was unconstitutional. Do not be surprised if the second impeachment of President Trump is overturned as well, as that affair was a mockery of our constitution and an epic travesty of justice.

Stay tuned.
Better study your eighth grade civics. The house has the ability to impeach. That is what they did. The judicial branch has no say in the matter, and cannot, would not get involved. You may be right about the senate trial after Trum leaves office. There is some controversy regarding that.

The less information or facts the Democrats have, the more likely they are to get the verdict they want. So they're fine with charging ahead with no evidence or conclusions. "Due Process"? Don't make me laugh.

Alan Dershowitz to Newsmax TV: House Violated Constitution

By Eric Mack | Saturday, 16 January 2021 10:18 AM

President Donald Trump did not commit any impeachable offenses, but the House violated the Constitution to suggest he did and are, ironically, immune from reprisals, according to constitutional law expert Alan Dershowitz.

"We all hear that the president is not above the law, but Congress is not above the law: When Congress impeached the president earlier this week, they committed six independent violations of the Constitution," Dershowitz told "Saturday Report."

"They violated the free speech provision. They violated the impeachment criteria. They violated the bill of attainder. They violated due process, on and on and on."

"How can you impeach a president for a speech that is constitutionally protected?" he lamented.

"The Senate cannot try an ordinary citizen."
Democrats don't follow the Constitution.. they use it as toilet paper daily.

So...that was just free speech? Was Manson urging his followers to kill just free speech too? Because he went to prison for life.

this is all an incredible waste of time. What Trump did in the last few months is absolutely worthy of him being removed from office, make no mistake, but he'll be out in 4 days anyway. We shouldn't be spending another penny on more court cases and such. The congress should be working on covid relief measures, most of the country wants life to get back to normal.

There's no controversy about what is in the Constitution. A private citizen is not subject to impeachment.

Why do you think the House rushed this without any panels or investigations ?
And why do you think the Senate is doing nothing ?

It's the Senate trial that has teeth. The House is more like a grand jury.

It was a total Kangaroo Court and the majority of Americans have no clue how the process works.
Some are even asking why Trump is still in the WH. They thought once impeached by the House he had to leave.
