Interesting. One of the comments on the web article was from a guy who spits on dogs to cool them off.

You'd think owners would care enough for their pets to occasionally expectorate on them. But no. As long as their pooch craps on the neighbor's lawn and barks incessantly at nothing, they're good with that.

I have given up eating all beans and raw veggies.

Afterall, l have to do my part to prevent greenhouse gases from getting into the atmosphere.

Good, Gem.

I eschew eructation for the same reason.

We all need to play a part in the never-ending struggle against the enemies of hysteria.

I'm trying to teach that to my neighbor's dog. I hope to work him up to fifty-nine minutes.

This is not a serious thread; albeit that it addresses the most serious issue facing all of us. We can no longer act like a petulant child - as made clear at the global climate summit last year. Moreover, if we fail to assume our proper leadership role on global warming, we face increasing isolation on the most important issue facing the world. Every other issue (i.e., the war on terrorism, the economy, etc.) is dwarfed by the catastrophic consequences posed by global warming. It is a frightening prospect, and very real. We can see the ice melting at an accelerating pace, and we know what is sure to follow; and yet we fail to act to stop the pollution that is the precipitating cause of the impending ecological disaster. It will be late to counsel then or pray when the devastation brought about by abrupt climate change has been visited upon us. It is no joke - as you shall soon see.
