In Germany 90% of the worst Covid cases are in patients with an immigrant background. Officials were told not bring up that subject for fear of racism charges.

I'm an American in America but my concern for immigrants being diseased is right up there with my worries that extraterrestrials from other solar systems will bring in a horrible disease from some other planet.
Don't fear the immigrant or any group with high and/or intense infection rate. Treat those demographics accordingly with the appropiate resources, measures and treatments. And do make it public information so they know they're ones that should really be concerned about getting the virus.
New's sources often blur the lines between legal immigrants and illegal aliens and just lump them all under plain ole "immigrants". I don't think legal immigrants are any more of a threat of passing on the virus or getting it than citizens are. It is illegal aliens and asylum seekers that are a concern and they are being allowed into our country as we speak. Some that tested positive but no symptoms are being allowed to take buses to whatever their destination is here. It's truly alarming.
Probably has a lot to do with the housing circumstances, much as it does in the USA. Immigrants are likely much less well off than residents, so they end up crowded together.
It begs the question: why? Why are they more likely to become severely ill?
