Police officers have one of the highest suicide rates in America; the root issues have been raised and discussed in venues ranging from psychological journals to the novels of Joseph Wambaugh.

But to simplify the point, just think of how many unpleasant, sometimes disturbing scenes from our daily lives lead to the decision to "call the cops".
Sad but true.

There's a difference? I thought that Washington DC has the Capital Police Department. I wasn't aware of there being two of them.

Yes, the are two. The Capitol Police which JUST guard the Capitol and have their own leadership which extends up through Congress. Then there's the Metropolitan Police Department which is run by DC and answers to the DC mayor.

Nope, two different agencies:

I'm unclear why this is a "Gotcha!!" moment though. Presuming that both suicides were tied to the Capital Riot -- which is logically where the OP would be going with this -- if both cops were involved and both committed suicide thereafter (it's a reach, but that's what they seem to want to do), what difference does it make if they're from different police departments?
