There are probably few people who dislike Nancy more than I do, but Paul Pelosi was wealthy before Nancy became a politician.

Paul Pelosi owned a Pineapple farm in Hawaii. It was not very profitable, until Nancy got him Millions in stimulus cash during the Obama giveaway. He kept the cash, then sold the farm w/in the next year.

I tried to find record of this on the Internet about 2 years ago, but its been scrubbed.

It may have been Del Monte instead of Dole - or maybe Dole was a totally separate venture for them. Del Monte owns StarKist Tuna - who has also benefited in the past from Congressional exemptions.

Jan 2007 - GOP hits Pelosi's 'hypocrisy' on wage bill

On Wednesday, the House voted to raise the minimum wage from $5.15 to $7.25 per hour.

...
The bill also extends for the first time the federal minimum wage to the U.S. territory of the Northern Mariana Islands. However, it exempts American Samoa, another Pacific island territory that would become the only U.S. territory not subject to federal minimum-wage laws.

One of the biggest opponents of the federal minimum wage in Samoa is StarKist Tuna, which owns one of the two packing plants that together employ more than 5,000 Samoans, or nearly 75 percent of the island’s work force. StarKist’s parent company, Del Monte Corp., has headquarters in San Francisco, which is represented by Mrs. Pelosi.

See how it works?

They create unfair advantages for themselves.

Thanks for posting this. This from the supposed party of the oppressed, the little people, and the less fortunate. Give me a freaking break. To those who support the democrats thinking they care about you - oh ye suckers!

Pelosi is in 7th position of greatest wealth in the House of Representatives.

Her wealth, like many members of the House and Senate, are tied to their spouse.

The source of her wealth is her husband’s business a San Francisco real estate development and venture capital firm that long predates her entry into politics.

Should all national politicians denote their wealth and take a vow of poverty?

Your post does not address the behavior in question, it’s an attempt to deflect. Why are you quick to defend democrats who behave this way but will attack conservatives who do? We all should demand more of our politicians on both sides of the aisle.

Anyone who's been inspired by others to hate Nancy Pelosi ought to find better reasons. See: https://www.factcheck.org/2008/11/special-favors-from-nancy-pelosi/ and https://www.snopes.com/fact-check/american-samoa/

Pelosi is just the tip of the iceberg.

These politicians know who fund them, who give them jobs when they leave politics, who throw bennies their way, etc.
And it's NOT us.

You don't bite the hand that feeds you....Dems and Repubs. Our Congress is corrupt to the core by crony politics.

Well now....it's funny that many Democrats expected Trump to do just that when he became president.
