First of all, no need to debate on climate change. Let assume it is true. Why does the US need to join the agreement and to give out billions to China, India ...., and those countries can do nothing? Why does the US act alone on climate change (greenhouse gas ....) and save billions?
Not a leftist, but my guess is it's mostly about symbolism. The actual accord is toothless, but perhaps signing it provides some diplomatic leverage in European circles.

It's getting colder - not warmer. The exact opposite of what the climate alarmists are spouting. It's cyclical and carbon dioxide levels rise when it gets colder. The climate changes - and has - for hundreds of thousands of years.
According to the world extinction clock they have running - we have a little over 7 years before we are all doomed. Can't make this stuff up. The lemmings buy it hook, line and sinker. The Paris accord is about wealth creation and power for a small group of people at the top. (and to justify raping taxpayers to replenish the beaches for the wealthy who have ocean front property...)

The US cannot be the key LEADER OF THE FREE WORLD if we exit ourselves from the World Organizations. It is to keep us having a say and clearly keeping up appearances that tell the World we are not letting Russia and China attempt to make inroads in the lead.
These World organizations have their purpose and we can still have a say then in its direction... and as we exit.... they come to fill the void or we force say a Europe to enter agreements from seeing the US is less there with and for them. They say to keep your enemies as friends to keep your eye open and to gain insight on their next move and all seek a advantage that to give up by simply a vote in it and power to influence other Nations .... does not add strength.
If we exit everything like a bully not getting his way and walking away..... it makes us look weak and not in the lead. SIMPLE.... we have China and Russia building new Bases in Africa etc. They are not saying we should not pay for such things not on American soil and pay a foreign Nation to be there. They see it as FLEXING THEIR MIGHT and INFLUENCE We then loose bit by bit as we exit.

They move forward with or without us. We give up our influence to exit. Putting ones head in the sand and saying we can do all alone.... makes us weak in the end. Not a good solid influence the Nations of the Free-World wants. You cannot lead by affar. You need to be in the mix. On the Playing field and set the goal with influence.
