The resentment of Catholics shows it's ugly head. When my grand parents came here, Catholics from Europe were looked down upon.

It's more like they prefer leaders who share their bigotry against the LGBTQ community. Right now, that is probably the second most divisive issue in our politics, next to abortion.
Biden only uses the Bible when it can be leveraged for his agenda/politics. The remainder of the time Biden qnd Dems trash and stomp on it routinely.

Conservative Christianity is more about enforcing a social structure and making sure certain people remain out-groups than it is anything else.
