It's getting to the point where your employers can fire you for having any opinion that they don't like. Scary. I avoid posting anything political or controversial or anything about race on my social media because employers have the power to fire you over it. We've all said things in the heat of the moment or things we maybe shouldn't have said at times, but do people deserve to have their lives ruined over it? I don't think so. It's real scary. I only post memes on my Facebook, the
Fact that they can fire you for posting anything on social media they don't like is awful. it's scary as hell where this society and country is headed. Having the wrong opinion or views in this PC society gets you fired.
There used to be protections in place for such a thing...............They were called unions.........
Political beliefs are not a protected class at any level of government, that I'm aware of. If Disney broke the law or violated her contract by firing her, I'm certain her management and legal team will be all over it.
If you look at the direct quote of what she said........ it was absolutely NOT anti-sematic. So yes, they lied. If you want to get into whether they could "legally" fire her........ then probably they were in their legal rights. Does that make it morally right? No.
While abhorrence is in the eye of the beholder, it's not antisemitic in the least. At worst it may be considered badly worded by missing one word from one sentence.
Her opening sentence
"Jews were beaten in the streets, not by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…. even by children."
This may be interpreted by the ridiculously pedantic as "Nazi soldiers never beat Jews in the street", however the subsequent text implies this is in the beginnings of persecution, before the Nazi government openly oppressed Jewish (and other classes of) people.
The missing word is 'only'
"Jews were beaten in the streets, not only by Nazi soldiers but by their neighbors…. even by children."
With that one word (in bold and red) even the most pedantic reader could never interpret it as anything offensive.
Who is brain dead enough to say they fired someone for being from a certain minority..........?
Good luck proving you were fired for that reason. They will just make up some reason like you were not a "fit" for the job. Actually in those "right to fire" states you don't even need a reason.

Who is "they"?
Wasn't Disney, at any rate. Some rando on the Internet maybe, but randos on the Internet are always saying silly things. Case in point, Gina Carano. Think more before tweeting, spend less time deleting things you regret and discovering the consequences.

Okay, so where did Disney say that post was anti-semitic? Cause right now it seems an awful lot like you're upset at Disney because some rando on the Internet said something.

Lucasfilm Ltd., a unit of the*Walt Disney Co., said it has no plans to work in the future with*Gina Carano, a star of “The Mandalorian” who posted comments on social media that many criticized as anti-Semitic
Disney also claimed that she will not be working for them because of statements made that "denigrated cultural and religious backgrounds"
In the very nature of cancel culture, Disney clearly endorse the view Carano's statements are antisemitic, since they have not condemned those statements then they must clearly agree with them. Much like people who have not issued statements that support BLM, or MeToo clearly disagree with both of those movements, as they have not explicitly declared their support.
