One notably difference is that appears to have been, as he described it, a very stupid post that was in isolation whereas Carano's was not in isolation. Also rather than double down on it he called it like it was, a very stupid post that was meant to be funny but, well, wasn't.
I don't know that I'd agree with Disney's decision though, but it's their brand reputation to manage as they see fit. I can see why they did it even I probably wouldn't have made the same decision were it up to me. But then I'm as thickheaded as I am about PR image stuff, even I know I don't have the temperament that I'd be any good at managing a squeaky clean, family friendly Disney's PR image. HBO maybe but I'd just never do well in a PR environment with Disney.
Well, it's always anyone's perogative to, as you put it, be a loon. Not much more to say on that subject since we seem to agree that blaming Disney for what some Internet rando said is silly or looney. Just semantics there.
Whoa there not so fast. I'm blaming Disney for allowing the current narrative to propagate, and I'm not convinced that they have not accused Carano of antisemitic statements, I mean they have in all but one sentence containing that precise term (antisemitic), that I've yet to see, but just because I haven't seen it, doesn't mean it doesn't exist.

Indeed, he survived but he was saved by the Avengers cast, in particular RDJ and Chris Evans. That said Disney have reversed course at least once, in regards James Gunn, who's terribly bad taste jokes about pedophilia got him fired, then reinstated. I didn't agree with that either, it was the same right wing yahoo who started Pizzagate targeting a progressive based on 10 year old tweets. Hey at least I'm consistent.
This paragraph from the Hollywood Reporter article swats all the lame excuses proffered by neo-McCarthyites aside and drives straight to the heart of the matter:
Quote:
"I don’t know what people at Disney personally believe or don’t believe with regard to politics, but as a corporate entity, they want to stay as trouble-free as possible. And anything that’s going to offend the left is a problem," says crisis PR rep Juda Engelmayer. "I have clients who are making an extraordinary effort to post what the social left wants to see."
The sooner these spineless corporate cowards develop the courage to tell these self-appointed social Stasi to fk right off, the sooner they'll do just that.
LOL gotta love Elon but he's gotta be careful! If he keeps bucking the Agenda like this we'll soon be starting a thread where we're debating whether or not he killed himself.
*shrug* let's steal one from the big city mayors handbook and just state that people with a problem with her are only doing it because of her race, gender or orientation.
Saw that and think it is awesome. Disney would have just drowned her with legal nonsense, but with Elon bankrolling she has a chance to actually smack down the woke corporate idiots at Disney. I hope she prevails.
