First of all, stop using a forty-year old
media-misnomer. It's about as scientific as proclaiming that a ghost caused my toilet to overflow.
The proper term, going back to the 1800s, is CLIMATE CHANGE.
Warming is but one symptom(indicator, predictor) of CLIMATE CHANGE.
The recent dip of cold and snowy weather south of the 30th parallel - into Texas - is another indicator of CLIMATE CHANGE over a period of decades.
Yes, there has been a 2-3° F increase in global average temperatures since 1900, but what is more important is what is happening above and below that average - the extremes.
The extremes are getting more extreme. Earth's warm and cool seasonal cycles are swinging more and more out of control. Historically warm areas are seeing cooler weather. Cool areas are warming up. Rain and snow patterns are geographically shifting over the decades.
Here in Connecticut, summers are getting warmer, and staying warm until November. But also, winters are colder than I remember from 30 years ago, with chilly weather hanging around until just before Memorial Day.
It's not all "warming".
