I think it's great to live in a nation where generous people are wealthy enough to make donations.
People in most other nations in the world are not nearly as altruistic.
will they stop accepting donations now that they have more money than they need?
I question the sanity of people who think this healthcare system does not need to make major changes. I know its all warm and fuzzy that people are helping out, at the same times it speaks volumes of how greedy the powers that be are in this country. What other developed nation do its citizens have to this to get these kinds of procedures??

I think the US is the only developed country that doesn't provide healthcare for all residents. I guess it's the American dream to have the freedom to die due to a lack of proper healthcare. Poor girl would be better off in a more advanced country.

the young lady has health care insurance. What's not included is the travel cost.
This case isn't the best example illustrate that though. The family is raising money to help pay their travel and hotel costs associated with treatment. Few if any countries have systems to pay for that sort of thing out of public funds.
Yes. Children in the US are covered by several sources of insurance - 95% of them - like CHIP, Medicaid etc.
