I think all politicians need to have an electronic message screen on their desk with the phrase I posted above, in big capital letters, "MAKE SURE THE BRAIN IS ENGAGED, BEFORE PUTTING THE MOUTH IN GEAR."

The next question is is do you think that that the fundamental pillars of the nation need to be changed? Is this a nation worth saving?
Do you value personal choice or do you think that a larger body such as the government should sort of lead things and you feel better knowing that the government is looking out for you?
Those key ideas are really some of the core ideas of what separates the left and the right.
We get so lost in the details but that is the primary difference.
Once I realized this my animosity toward the left slipped away. Once I understood why they do the things they do it made sense.
The same could be said for the right, I assume.
