While Americans are successfully being vaccinated every day, thanks to Donald Trump and Operation Warp Speed, Europe is struggling to get COVID under control.

Thank you President Trump. I got my first vaccine.

You sound desperate to paint Trump in a positive light, do you know that Europe’s problem is the new variant.

The EU made a mess of their vaccine procurement.

However countries such as the UK have a good vaccine program and now have very low covid rates.

They did indeed. They went with a consensus driven, collective bargaining approach which means they could keep costs down, but is taking much more time.

Looks like a win for Brexit, eh?

Because lockdowns, masks, and social distancing don't work. They've only been doing it for more than a year.

The EU are now trying to prevent other countries from receiving the vaccines made in Europe.

In terms of the EU they didn't order enough different vaccines early enough, despite being warned.

By contrast the UK has ordered over 400 million doses of a host of different vaccines, and has developed it's own Vaccine - Oxford AstraZeneca.

The UK is manufacturing the Oxford Vaccine, along with the Novavax vaccine and Valneva vaccine, and has numerous other vaccines on order.

The UK have now given 26,263,732 their first dose of the vaccine and 2,011,070 have had the second dose.

The Estimated R number is 0.6 to 0.9 with a daily infection growth rate range of -6% to -3% as of 19 March 2021.

Per the bolded, it seems the EU is standing in the way of England getting the vaccines they already have a contract for....

"Europe is crashing into a vaccine debacle. And its leaders are now so desperate, they are threatening to bring about wartime measures and seize factories, patents, and intellectual property in order to divert vaccines that are partially produced within the European Union from leaving for the United Kingdom, which contracted for them…

Such a move has very serious consequences. If the EU tries to seize medicines that the United Kingdom contracted to buy legally, the U.K. could retaliate by putting export controls on raw materials used to produce vaccines for Europeans, slowing down the EU’s response even more….."

The EU are making all kinds of claims to try and deflect the blame from themselves.

They want to stop the vaccines manufactured by Pfizer in Europe from leaving the EU, as well as other vaccines.

The result will be vaccines will be not just prevented from being sent to the UK but also other countries, however this is yet to be passed by the EU.

The UK is not going to be massively effected by current supply issues according to officials and manufacturing of other vaccines such as the Moderna vaccine has now started in the UK, whilst new vaccine supplies are also being sourced from India.

1. We have a tremendous number (perhaps 120 M+) and percentage who caught Covid and recovered over the last year. Their antibodies are successful versus all Covid variants.

2. We have a large number (especially elderly) and percentage of vaccinated (fully and partially) folks - 115M.These folks are essentially immune to Covid and its variants.

3 . Thus, we have a limited (and shrinking) pool of folks who can catch Covid and that pool is not comprised of highly vulnerable (in terms of hospitalizations and deaths) folks.

The countries in Europe currently seeing large upticks in cases and increases in hospitalizations (France, Germany, Poland and a few more) are in a different situation. Others, like Britain, are more aligned with our situation.

Masks/lockdowns only barely nibble at the margins —— 1-3 (above) actually determine the current covid situation in the West.
