I think all reasonable people can agree that what Powell, Guliani and Lin Wood did was gamesmanship on behalf of the Trump regime. It's like flopping in professional sports. Well guess what. If you get caught flopping (the refs review the games) you get fined lots of money. Why? Because tricking the refs has win or lose consequences.

More like professional wrestling- it's tacky and fake. Most know it's not real but a certain demographic will pay good money to watch because they find it entertaining even if it's fake and some sad, gullible souls believe it's real.
Powell's deroute began somewhat before. A pity, actually. She's always been drawn to the dark side - defended ENRON execs - but with a rational, intelligent demeanor.
The name slips my memory, but IIRC, Trump attracted exactly one heavy hitter from a respected Washington firm - who promptly lost her partnership, can't have Trump all over the company's good name. The rest is a motley collection of attention-seeking people whose careers were already on the downslope. He does have a type.

You have a great take on this. I have noticed that even the most successful person in the TRUMP admin Kelly Ann Conway crashed and burned and couldn't shake the stench of the regime off of her. Sending naked pics of her minor daughter. I just don't understand how all these types are attracted to Trump like a moth to a flame. Powell, Guliani and Lin Wood put themselves is really bad positions and I wonder if Trump will have their backs.
I just don't understand why succesful attorneys would torpedo their own careers for a guy like Trump. Why? Why would you do that to yourself.
Rudy was doing it for the side grift. Trying to make as much money as he could with Trump access as the golden ticket. Doesn’t care what it does to his reputation, his career is over anyway and cash out while the getting is good. And cash out he did!
