There is a new technology that is now used on deceased animals that literally dissolves you and allows you to be poured down the drain. It is cheap, quick and clean. Should it be legal or not?

There doesn't seem to be much reason for it to be illegal. So far as anyone has ever been able to figure out, dead bodies are just that...dead bodies. What to do with them physically is just a waste disposal issue. A little new technology in that area can't hurt...

If it saves on the obscene cost of funerals, caskets, flowers, etc., I'm all for it.
Putting a body inside several thousand dollars worth of "box" to be put inside another "required" box to be put into the ground is STUPID! And for what purpose?????

Funerals are for the living, and they can be very important in helping to make a beginning at dealing with the loss that death brings. It depends on the circumstances. It might be considered generous for those of us who are alive and have opinions on the matter to explore the options and leave instructions as to what our wishes are. This relieves those who will be our survivors of the burdens of making these decisions for us at a time when they may not be well prepared to do so. Just a thought...

What are the environmental consequences of this matter being flushed into the water supply?

Sounds fine to me. You know some joker is going to leave it in his will to be flushed down the toilet.

Call it "goldfishing."

Doesn't seem like it'd preclude having a funeral for the person. Just no body to sit and look at. Seems reasonable to me.

And...it's not my life down the drain. On no level does my physical body constitute "my life".
