This just happened around here about a month ago, a father was waiting for his daughter to get off work at McDonalds, he was napping in the car, he is woken up by police and EMTs busting into the car, demanding to know what drugs he took. From what I read, it took alot to convince police he was just napping...they pretty much assumed he was overdosing on opioids!!!

Wouldnt common sense dictate...a guy sleeping in his car in a McDonalds parking lot is just NAPPING? LOL To jump to thinking he was overdosing on opioids is ridiculous.
Interesting story but totally irrelevant to Chauvin's trial.

Default Derek Chauvin Trial on the killing George Floyd - what to you predict for outcome and repercussions?

Derek Chauvin Trial on the killing George Floyd - what to you predict for outcome and repercussions?

The defense will say George Floyd died of a drug overdose, meth and Fentanyl, had a heart condition and and that the neck restraint was allowed and used at the time by Minneapolis police

The defense will say that was not what killed him, it was 9 unnecessary minutes of a knee on his neck, far too long was applied after he was not even moving that Chauvin had 18 complaints on his official record.
Several police officers are also testifying against him (unusual)

Suppose Chauvin he gets 10 years on manslaughter what will be the repercussions?

That is what I'm predicting will be the most likely outcome and that there will be some protesting over probably not rendering a murder conviction but these protests not huge and long lasting

If he is found innocent however, I think that would lead to major, bigger than ever riots across the country

Let's not focus on the details of the case, there has been a ton of that. Waht do you predict the outcome of this case is going to be and the level of protest or lack thereof after it ?

OP didn't ask what you were rooting for.

I agree with OP that Manslaughter will be the verdict, but 10 years seems high to me.

If you support the defendant, does that make you a chauvinist?

I dont think it matters whether found guilty or not, there will be riots. In some eyes he can never be found guilty enough, and rioting is quite lucrative and entertaining for some segments of the population.

Just a side note to the poster of this paragraph:
The defense will say that was not what killed him, it was 9 unnecessary minutes of a knee on his neck, far too long was applied after he was not even moving that Chauvin had 18 complaints on his official record.
Several police officers are also testifying against him (unusual)

My notes: I think it's the prosecutors who will contend the knee of the neck was the primary force leading to the death. The 'defense ' though wants to throw mud on the facts to blurr and create doubt

Manslaughter conviction or a hung jury. Murder is out. Manslaughter if the jury gets scared and caves.
